fyi : I tried to find this book listed on M.D. Anderson's site :
http://www.mdanderson.org/patients_p...od=displayFull
But their publications page linked to above does not show it. And using
their internal Google-based search engine came up with everything but.
Note that M.D. Anderson is a part of the University of Texas : according to
their website : "M. D. Anderson now ranks first in the number of grants
awarded, and total amount of grants given by the National Cancer Institute."
So a good bit of federal tax money for cancer research is being spent there,
to good effect, probably.
So if you have any ideas that your taxpayer money funded this institution,
and that having to pay more than US $40 for a publication from them from a
3rd. party publisher is not quite right : may I refer you to the page on the
M.D. Anderson web-site :
http://www.mdanderson.org/misc/displ...od=displayFull
Which seems to imply to me that any citizen of Texas has the right to any
document produced by M. D. Anderson, and sets forth very specific mechanisms
by which a citizen of Texas can assert those rights :
"Texas Government Code, Chapter 552, gives you the right to access
government records, and an officer for public information and the officer's
agent may not ask why you want them."
