| | | Moderated group? On google groups? Should the common posters start a moderated group? It is free and
would eliminate all the trash being posted.
Just a thought, I would not make the rules over whelming but enough to
avoid people trying to sell products or posting junk. |

Common? If you consider yourself common, go right ahead.

I don't think of myself as common, I should have said "frequent
poster" which I am. If I have ever offended you it was not by intent.
It is the holiday season so I am wishing you a very happy and holiday
season. Personally this has been not a kind year for me related to my
cancer. It is hard to work when you have to take days off to go to the
surgeon, oncologist, and other health care providers. Not to mention
the pain, I am also a wife, mother and a community member which I
try to make a difference. My kids and husband are doing well and
thriving and productive members of the community.
I wish you the best, you are in the fight of your life and are
handling the best way you can .....enjoy reading the junk ( and you
probably include me in that group). Happy Holidays. |

I understood what you said in your original post and there was no reason to
be apologetic. Your meaning was clear.
After seeing some of the issues with a "common" poster trying to control
issues/posts that only a true moderator should control, I would vote "NO."
I would rather have the freedom to post here. I realize that we sometimes
have to skip a lot of crap, but I think the freedom to post trumps that.
Right now, especially, there is a lot of crap but usually over time these
things tend to die out.

I agree with Mel about needing freedom to post here; there's enough rules
and regulations in life without imposing more on ourselves. This is a place
to come for information and comfort or sometimes just to share with those
thrown into the same world. I can't say for sure, but I probably would have
been put off posting had it been moderated because I would have been too
fearful of watching my p's and q's at a time when it was difficult to think
straight.

I only mentioned this since whoever has been attacking this group is
posting using our handles to other groups. Since I use a "real email"
I have recieved from moderated groups asking me if I had sent the
post.I thought that was a good thing to be warned that someone else is
using your handle.
I agree with everyone else.....no rules except but truthful and not
trying to scam anyone. Alex | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
