Thanks for checking this out. You are correct that I formed a team of
Homebrewers for this important medical research, which includes cancer;
I formed that team because I'm very active on many homebrewing forums,
and it was a way to encourage that particular segment to participate.
However, the link that I provided in my initial post here does NOT link
.... anywhere ... to my Homebrewers team, nor do I promote my team or
even mention it anywhere on any of the pages that you can reach through
that link or my personal websites --
www.velek.com or
www.2plus2is4.com
My motives were for no purpose other than to help with cancer research.
I hope the fact that I happen to brew beer as a hobby does not affect my
credibility; for what it's worth, I'm a Judge in Arkansas, and you can
find me listed on page 49 of the _official_ Arkansas Judiciary Directory
here --
http://courts.state.ar.us/aoc/docume..._directory.pdf
-- although I'm not sure that increases my credibility ;-) And
incidentally, home brewing beer _is_ legal under both Federal and
Arkansas State law.

That is perfectly understandable. If you will trust other sources for
the same video, here they are:
Google:
http://video.google.com/videosearch?...ity+grid&hl=en
U-Tube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boS8UUHh0EM
My site also includes several other informative videos, an excellent
podcast by the head researcher at the New Jersey Cancer Institute, and
plenty of other resources; it brings together info from lots of sites.
I don't know about my sites being "hyper-promotional" -- but I am VERY
passionate in my belief that we should all be doing as much as we can to
help cure diseases, etc., and the World Community Grid is an extremely
easy, cheap, and convenient way to do that, but far too few people are
helping, including most people who are most affected by such diseases.
Specifically because of skepticism and mistrust, I have also launched my
Project 2plus2is4 --
http://www.2plus2is4.com -- which I hope you will
take a few minutes to visit.

You raised valid points ... except for me being a homebrewer ;-) ...
which I hope I have addressed. And THANKS for taking an interest and
planning to join. I hope other members here will follow suit. If and
when you join, I strongly implore you to post about it here and in any
other forums to help persuade others to also join.
Cheers.
