My dad has cancer

I feel so stunned. My mom just told me. He hasn't been
feeling well for a while and after an x-ray and a cat scan,
his doctor said lung cancer. He's a 17 year colon cancer
survivor.

I feel like crying. They didn't sound too bad, but they
tend to keep things to themselves. He's having a pet scan
next Tuesday and a biopsy on Wed (needle, I think), and an
appt w/the doctor Feb 4. The doctor mentioned radiation.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, a diagnosis always bring shock waves and a
rollercoaster ride ahead, I wish you and your family well and hope that the
ride isn't too tricky.

Thanks, Alayne. 24 hours later, I've calmed down a bit and
am taking a let's see what the tests show attitude. Mostly.
