Hi Isi,

Thanks for the advice on milk ! I think right now I need it, but I am going
to limit myself to half a quart a day for the first two weeks and watch what
happens.

Accessing the Mucositis Guideline article above may require you to have a
MedScape account which is available free : see :

Doing a search on "Mucositis" on MedScape turns up some very interesting
articles :

It seems to be "crunch" time for me here; my neck skin is now turning a
livid color, and I'm back on a fentanyl patch for mucositis pain. About 8
more :"3d conformal mapping" RT sessions to go (:

I read all your messages, and love hearing about the range and variety of
foods you create.

best, Uncle Sally

Uncle Sally, make sure you put whatever cream they recommended on your
neck several times a day. I used Aquaphor and a pure aloe vera gel and
they worked but the wound care people after I'd finished my RT, gave me
something called Biafine made by Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Inc. and
that was the best stuff of all. The Biafine required a prescription but
was really worth it. My neck was not only red, it was peeling and weeping.

Hang in there, fella. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Janet

Uncle Sally,
Is soy milk a possibility? Dairy products are really hard on people
with mucositis. Soy milk can be high calorie as well & soy ice cream
& other forms are readily available here.
