Default OT: Cat Lovers?

When I was at Robert's house today, his cat, Miss Kitty, was such a pleasure
to meet. I have never owned a cat. She rubbed all over my legs, then when
I sat down on the couch, she got behind me and put her paws on my shoulders
and it was if she was massaging my shoulders! I fell totally in love with
her. I have read some about the cat you guys have, and I would love to read
more. I never knew they were so affectionate. My mom always told me they
were aloof, and did their own thing. That is so not true! That cat made my
day. She seemed to know what I needed. Since we own a pitbull, I can't
have a cat, not knowing how my dog would react. I plan to visit with Miss
Kitty a lot. She truly made me feel like I was important to her, and that
she cared about me. I just wanted every cat owner here to know how lucky
you are. I would give anything if I could have a cat. Miss Kitty was the
best medicine for my soul.......A new cat lover, Chris

Thanks as one who is owned by seven felines and a d*g. There is a cat
group, rec.pets.cats.anecdotes that is very good about those who do
not own cats, but would like to. We're about as supportive as this
group and are very JPG oriented. Most of us have web sites where we
post pictures of our cats as well as telling about them in the usenet
group.

I can tell when things are rough for any of us by how many cats are
around. About a week before Rob's next chemo course you can see any
where up to six cats sleeping around him. It makes it hard to find
room in the bed, but they're really good about sharing.

It is clear we are owned by kitties, not the reverse & happily so.
Christine, they sense our moods & give comfort in gentle ways when we
are upset. I have found the neutered male kitties are generally the
most affectionate. Mine leaps gently into my arms & likes to sleep
around my neck. The girls are sometimes more cautious.

I'm glad you've made friends with Robert's Miss Kitty.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

While its true that "you can't fix stupid", apparently you
can package it up and sell it.

Hi Figgertoes,

I pray that your use of "OT," even if it's just a reply to another message
where the OP was courteous enough to use "OT," is a good start on a regular
habit of labeling posts about cats (OT : Cats).

By the way I am a "cat worshipper" my whole life; even as a child cats
showed an affinity for me that was remarked on by people.

While I love dogs, and like all animals, for me Cats are the most wonderful,
the most mysterious, the most fascinating !

But with all due respect, there have been so many posts on cats, cat
carriers, etc. that they are, imho, distracting.

I share with you and Christine, and Pam, and J., and Isi, all the wonderful
feelings about cats you express.

But please, please, please, label messages which are only about cats in such
a way that I can skip them while at the same time allowing me to identify
your often enlightening on-topic messages about cancer, and support for
cancer patients and caregivers and caretakers.

thanks, Uncle Sally
