Default OT Deleting Posts

Trolls are cross-posting off topics to this newsgroup.
There's ways to filter threads (topics), using Outlook Express;
long-winded explanation.

Shorter ways:
Select and delete (key) each post, one at a time.

OR scoop up a bunch of posts and delete (key) multiples.

Select a post with the mouse (cursor) - it highlights that message
Hold the SHIFT key down
Move the cursor to 10 or 15 further.
All those get high-lighted (so make sure you're not deleting ones you want
to keep)
Then hit the delete (key) and poof, they're gone.

There's so little traffic on this froup anymore that even trolling
posts would be an "improvement"...

Gee, whiz, Greg, not all of us have your mental capacity. I have memory
loss and appreciate her re-posting things now and then.

I beg to differ. Wednesday I see my Oncologist. It has been
four years since I had the problem, and I hope that it still is
gone. Meanwhile, since I had absolutely no guidance, I came
here, and the support was fantastic. However, many idiots have
managed to drop by and pander their worthless products, or their
vain vanities. I don't get on much anymore, but when I do, I am
so turned off by the sub idiotic posts sent by candidates for
the psychotic hospital. It is nice to ban the exceptional posts
and save the problem of loading up my computer with worthless
junk, and not have to monitor it.

Hello Betsy,
How's that leg muscle pain?
Ultrasound (therapy) might be helpful?

It is simpler to filter all posts that are cross posted to troll groups. If
the news client you have can't manage that degree of filtering
sophistication, there are a number of free apps that will do so.

Good filtering will allow filtering of posts by path, Ip address or IP
range so that even constant header fudging won't circumvent your filters.
