Default Ovarian Cancer

My sister, Tatia Day, is suffering with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. She
was diagnosed almost 5 years ago, and has just turned 40 years old.
She has been through over 30 chemotherapy treatments, 2 debulking
surgeries, and stem cell replacement. She is now fighting back with
Issels treatment. I created a website to educate women about the
disease, and also to help raise funds for Tatia's phenomenal medical
expenses. Please help me by sending her website address to all of your
contacts, far and wide. With luck and faith, Tatia will get the
medical and financial help she needs, and many women will be educated
about Ovarian Cancer. Your prayers and/or positive, healing thoughts
sent her way are very much appreciated!

The website address is: www.cancerfreeday.org

Thank you for your consideration,

Tara Figueroa

We'll consider saving our money in case one of us decides to try it.
But it won't be on the basis of your story, because it isn't there.
I mean date of diagnosis, pathology reports, type of OVCA and grade and
staging. (where it was and where it spread to). Blood markers etc.
Surgeries had, lists of other treatments from and to:
In other words, a very poorly documented "cancer journey" and no update
since the first in "2002".
Fix it if you want credibility sometime in the future (claims).
Could be false hope and a waste of money.

So don't ask for money here ! Cancer patients (here) have their own
financial problems.

J

If you noticed, I asked for you to spread her website far and wide. I
am only trying to get exposure for her website to get her help. I am
waiting on her timeline of what she has been through. My other sister
is working on that. I live in Houston and Tatia is in the Dallas area.
I haven't been there through it all. I am not asking you for your
money, but asking you for your help in spreading the word about her
plight. You are right, I do not have much about her journey, as I was
not there through much of it. I am working on that part of the
website, but cannot do it all on my own. If you want proof it happened,
look at the pictures. Do you think she shaved her head for the fun of
it? Do you think she lost all that weight and then gained it all back
just because she could? I am still working on the website and have not
finished it all yet. Excuse me if you were offended by my trying to get
help for my sister. If you were my sibling, I would do the same for
you. I am doing all I can because I love my sister.. If you cannot
see that, then there is nothing I can do about that. I only wanted help
in spreading the word about her website so I could get her some help.

Forgive me for thinking that you would give a damn.

Tara

Okay, I admit my earlier post to "J" was rude, but all I am trying to
do is help my sister, and I felt as if I was being attacked. I
appologize for being short with you both. The fact is, if you read the
very first page of the website, I DO say when she was diagnosed, what
stage, what surgeries, and how many. The medical aspects of it are
difficult to know, as I was not there when the doctor was talking to
her about it. As I said, I live several hours away. I do know that
they took part of her liver, part of her intestines, and that it has
spread to her lymph nodes. This is all I know right now, until my
other sister gets more information to me.

All I am trying to do is help her. She is suffering physically,
mentally, emoitionally, and financially. I want people to know about
her and I want them to help if they can. Whether through prayer or
encouragement, or through financial donations. I know that other cancer
patients are likely in the same boat financially, but I also know that
the only way to get her the help she needs is to publicize her website
and promote her fundraisers. That is what I tried to do, and yet I
felt very attacked for doing it. Maybe you were only trying to give
constructive critisicm, but it did not feel that way.

I am stressed, I am tired, and I am scared for my sister. If I feel
all these emotions, then what must she be going through? All I wanted
to do was get her help.. I will take what you said to mind and see what
I can do to improve the website to share more of her story.

Tara
