go. I don't understand why God some people are usually very good people
linger on while other's pass on quickly and painlessly. Alex

It's time to let go now surely - this continued suffering just isn't
fair on anyone.

seen it in her eyes in a long time. At least not during my times with her.
Why this has dragged on I don't know. Especially since she seemed to be
ready to go a while ago but maybe there's been a part of her that just
hasn't been. From the sounds of things though, it won't be much longer.
The family was told that her body would be held long enough for whoever
needs to say their final goodbyes. This hasn't been mentioned before by the
medical staff so I'm thinking that they know it won't be much longer now.
I just want to once again thank everyone for your constant thoughts, prayers
and care you've shown.

Hugs a-plenty for all of you Trish. I know what you mean by saying she
went a while back because I felt that about my grandmother. It was as
if she'd already died but the shell of her body persisted in continuing
to exist. I couldn't grieve when that shell finally gave in, because it
was such a relief after all the weeks when she really hadn't been
'there' at all. I'd already done my grieving when she'd held my
firstborn as though he were a sack of potatoes rather then as she would
a baby. She just didn't seem to realise what she had or whose he was.
She was a lot older than Penny though. Penny seems so young. She can't
be that young if she has grown-up children, but she's so young at
heart...
I hope for her sake that it won't be much longer now. So much of her
seems ready to go. She's a fighter, and that has been a good thing;
however it's really time to let go now and give in. She's suffered
enough. You all have.
I wish I could have met Penny in person - she's one remarkable lady. To
have kept her sense of humour through what she's been through - that's
truly amazing.
Sleep now Penny - it's time to take your well-earned rest.

Today is a very good day to die
Every living thing is in harmony with me
All beauty has come to rest in my eyes
All bad thoughts have departed from me
Today is a very good day to die
My land is peaceful around me
My fields have been turned for the last time
My children have come home
Yes, today is a very good day to die.

Thank you Joe.
Penny was unresponsive today. Although they think she can still hear, the
doctor said that she'll slip into a coma soon and that it won't be much
longer.

I'm crying. I'm not sure if it's saddness or tears of gratitude because
she'll soon have peace. She'll not be forgotten. I promise you that.
My love to you and the family.

A very difficult time for Penny, her husband and the family. You're in
my thoughts. I miss Penny, can't believe she won't be posting here
anymore. Still here but in a way already gone, this must be hard for you
Trish.
