| | | Phew ! My friend's doctor told her (2 weeks ago) he thought she had melanoma on
the lower lip.
And it sure looked like one, comparing to photos on several melanoma web
pages.
So she had an excision biopsy last week and had to wait until this week to
get the results.
She sent me the pathology report and it says "benign fibrous papule"
What a relief !

Hi Betsy, it's good to read it didn't come back.
She told me she also had the same thing on the breast and then i worried about
lymph nodes.
now i know when they say "the waiting's the hardest".
She seemed unconcerned and went on with her life, meantime i was the one
worrying.

Thansks Fig and clifto.
Watch ya been up to, clifto?
You usually crawl through here on Thursdays. (IOW I missed hearing from you)
Feeling good? Busy with Thanksgiving.
I won't expect an answer if the latter. See you, next post.

Yes and no. (Yes, feeling good, no, Thanksgiving, sis-in-law is having it.)
Got a PET scan last Monday, all clear. That spot in my right lung is
unchanged but still showing up, and doc developed an interest in having
it biopsied so we know what we're dealing with.
I should put my DICOM files on my web site.

Yes, well some here don't seem to have interest in doing so.
I was on a hospital web page looking at "survivor stories" and one woman with
(IIRC) lung cancer had her "residual" that they thought might have been scar
tissue, biopsied and excised because it was cancerous.
I can't find the page now - forgot where I saw it.

errr.. dare I ask why?
Sorry no big Thanksgiving meal/reunion for you, this year, clifto.
We didn't either but are saving up for a treat (instead) when a restaurant opens
up.
That way they can deal with the dishes and cleanup And we can let out our
belts one notch. Hic!

A lot of us would be really surprised if that spot was cancerous after
seeing it remain the same size for nearly a year, about half of which
was without any form of treatment. Still, that's no reason *not* to
check it out.

Why, so I can privately point people from the newsgroup there and they
can be as confused by pictures they don't understand as I am.
> Sorry no big Thanksgiving meal/reunion for you, this year, clifto.
I gave the wrong impression. I meant, no, we're not busy with Thanksgiving.
We're going to sis-in-law's place. She always has lots of food, and I
always have fun with her when she always asks "Does everyone have
everything they need?"

Sounds like the right way. I've heard there are a few restaurants around
the Chicago area (and 'burbs) that are open for reservations on turkey
day, but never actually saw one.

They're still building the building...
Sorry, I misunderstood. Thought your sister was doing Thanksgiving elsewhere.
By the time you read this, you'll probably be stuffed, instead of the bird.
I don't need any DICOM to be confused but if it pleases you, go for it.
Have a great day, clifto !
I'll watch for your updates about the biopsy.
