Default Rob's latest MRI results

Rob had his regularly scheduled MRI last week and we got the results today.
There is some indication of growth in the same area as his previous cancer
and it is thought that it is possible that it may be back. Now I read that
report before I handed it over to the oncologist and it looked more like
probable rather than possible for the cancer to be back, but then I'm not an
expert. I also have noticed that Rob is having more problems with memory,
balance, and cognition (understanding).

So Rob has to have another MRI next month and we'll go on from there. If my
suspicions are correct, Rob will probably be put back on chemo, but
probably not Temodar this time, and will be monitored further. I think
we'll be looking at that trip to Ft Campbell sooner than I'd originally
planned.

Sorry to hear that (probable growth) Pam.
I wasn't aware that you thought the cancer gone.

Oh we knew it wasn't "gone" but we'd hoped for longer before it would start
growing again.

Pam,

I am so sorry to read your news, Pam. I hope they can arrest the
growth. It must be difficult to live with the capacity changes, but at
least you don't mention behavior issues. I guess it depend on what part
of the brain is compromised? Remind me, what is Ft.Campbell please?

You have been doing an incredible job of enjoying life with Rob, all
your outings & keeping a happy home with all your fur-butts.

Are you still going to school too? Can't imagine...

Hope chemo knocks it back & is gentle on him.

Fort Campbell, Ky is the first post that Rob was stationed at. He was there
for five of his first six years in the army. He was regimentally affiliated
with 101st Aviation Regiment and wants to go back and visit. He has the
behavior at times, but most people think he's funny and ignore most of his
actions, or laugh. I'm out of school right now as part of my promise to the
VA is that someone will be with Rob at all times as he has hurt himself
when left unattended. The cats are not enough, though they are pretty
diligent caretakers. The jury is currently out on further chemo until after
another MRI next month. They will use the next one as a guide to see if it
really is back and if so how violent. Then they'll decide if to use chemo
or not.

Thanks pam,
I get the picture now about Ft. Campbell.
Sounds like September will be okay as long as he's careful about the balance
problems.

I went through the same thing a couple of months ago. An MRI showed "something"
at the site of my first brain mets. Best guess was scar tissue from the previous
mets. A 2 month MRI didn't show growth so scar tissue it is. (The pictures went
to Stanford and SF Cancer Center.) I'll keep my fingers crossed for Rob.

Hey Pam,
Real sorry to hear the news......cant or hadnt thought of you as ever
being depressed....reading your posts, I had developed this
impression....never the less the news is rather depressing and I
sincerely hope that the worst is over soon......hope the chemo and
other treatment goes by without any hassles.....
Today i can write this only because of the hard work, care and the
nurturing that my wife bestowed on me...her patience and strength
helped me go through the times when I was feeling low and down.....its
a matter of time before both of you shall fight out again.....
all the very best

Sam S. encouraging
