Share you journey with cancer. It you read this message cancer has
touched your life in a personal way. Tell the group how cancer has
touched your life,

People come hear for different reasons. I am a cancer survivor ( 9
years breast cancer) and past primary cancer caregiver. Cancer has
touched my family in a very personal way, My father had prostate cancer
which he didn't die from. My mother died of lung cancer. Other
relatives have been touched by cancer.

Cancer can be isolating since people are very frightened of the word. I
was surprised who was my support system while undergoing treatment.
People who I thought would be there for me weren't while other people I
never thought of as supporters were by my side.

Personally, I found educating myself about the disease and treatments
to be empowering, yet you do have to have trust in your health care
team.
