Just an FYI it is only indirectly cancer related, but since I know that
many cancer patients and their caregivers use some sort of sleep
medicine to cope with the disease, I am posting this and a link to an
FDA labeling change for 13 sleep medicines that have some fairly strange
side effects.

In addition to allergic reactions the first time they are taken, these
medicines may cause people who are still mostly asleep to drive a car,
make telephone calls, prepare and eat food and not remember any of it.
Here's a list of the medicines in this "sedative/hypnotic" class:
*********
Ambien/Ambien CR (Sanofi Aventis)
********* Butisol Sodium (Medpointe Pharm HLC)
********* Carbrital (Parke-Davis)
********* Dalmane (Valeant Pharm)
********* Doral (Questcor Pharms)
********* Halcion (Pharmacia & Upjohn)
*********
Lunesta (Sepracor)
********* Placidyl (Abbott)
********* Prosom (Abbott)
*********
Restoril (Tyco Healthcare)
*********
Rozerem (Takeda)
********* Seconal (Lilly)
*********
Sonata (King Pharmaceuticals)
Important to take care if you or a family member is using one of these
drugs. It is also important to let your doctor know if you have a weird
experience while taking the drug and insist that it be reported to the
FDA Medwatch system so that the full extent of the problem can be
analyzed.
