Default Three strikes and am I out?

Well, we're going for a triple. Three years ago, I get stage 4 colon
cancer. A year and a half ago my younger brother dies of stomach
cancer. Just this week another of my brothers is diagnosed with
Prostate cancer. Will this ever end?

Forunately his doc feels confident and has given him a 95% chance for
cure with surgery. He did mention however that there is a 20-30%
chance of later recurrence even after "cure".

Surgery is scheduled for early next year.

Holy crow, Joe I sure hope so. It has to end sometime. How are you doing?

What a curious concept. I make that a 70-80% chance of cure.

Those are good odds, agreed. But when you're the one with the cancer,
every negative percent counts.

The lower the Gleason and PSA, the better the outlook.
But the Gleason doesn't get finalized until after surgery, if applicable.
Having read there for years, I realize treatment decisions and (potential)
SE's are a big issue.
It's also wonderful to see people come back (months and years later) and
post the all clear.
There's another type, more aggressive.
Here's hoping your brother's in the curables, Joe.

J -is my non-expert understanding.
