Or maybe not. Rats. Well, I took wombn to therapy, and I voted. And
we went for a walk. Then I ranted with a friend about the election for
    about 2 hours.

When I get like this I just freeze. I've been thinking about doing my
bath routine where I study a little Spanish, but I can't even get myself
to do that. I end up staring at the internet and continually checking
email and newsgroups for new messages.

i know the feeling. i start by reading physics blogs. then i get motivated
to read a few survey papers.

maybe get some Spanish speaking penpals. that way you can kill 2 birds with
    one stone.

Yeah, I've done that too. I think this day is pretty much toast.
    Tomorrow is another day.

One thought I've had about the latter practice: One becomes
accustomed to a certain level of novelty and interest from
on-line communications. Unlike the old print media, though,
if one keeps looking, one will often find something New!
    and Exciting!

One has to learn to say "enough for an hour" or "for today."

I've actually had some modest successes with the latter.
