I think perhaps this is not the place for me, not for my particular
personality. Im already feeling more depressed for being here, that is, I
took a swipe, everyone took a swipe, I dont know....for me that doesnt solve
depression. I guess that is fine, as someone else said, different strokes
for different folkes.
I do have thoughts on it though, to me, taking swipes at people is
depression. Few people actually said, woah buddy, that initial post was
kinda rude and coulda been fraised better, your negative thoughts arnt
conducive to happiness. Instead most became sarcstic, defensive and stayed
defensive and as a result focused on the negative instead of the positive,
which of course is depression. That is, people clung to the negative aspects
of what I said without acknologing the truth in it. (I agree thats partially
my fault as to the tone of the initial post) Clinging to the negative
aspects in itself is a cause of depression.
On the positive your post was a constructive thought out post.
I think perhaps its better to be around non depressed people if you are
depressed, it rubs off better. Either that or practice hard to point out the
positive things so that people can see they are being negative and thats not
an easy thing to do, being depressed and all because most the time you are
unaware of it urself.

but not all groups are for all people ,
you may not like some of us but you've only met a few ,
maybe if you give it a few more days you'll click with some of the others ,
the participation in this group is much larger than just what you saw today
,
either way best of luck finding a fit in

That is possibly the reason why you are depressed, whether you posted or
not. Do you think that might be the case?
You are right, your post was not a cause of my depression, it did trigger it
though. I am the cause of my depression. The trigger was your negativity,
which in effect is a way of putting my views down.

See you're getting better, shorter messages, being funny and still getting
your point across.
Hang in there, bumps and bruises happen here, but all in all, it's a pretty
dysfunctional group that I absolutely adore!
BTW, even though the group is "titled" support.depression, there is so much
more here then support and depression.

Thank you for your post you pretty much nailed it on the head exactly in a
non hostile way. That's a good post.
Yes it comes down to this group being alot different to other ones I am in
and when I was bombarded with 100 messages a day my immediate reaction was
holy crap, I dont have time to read these, then I started reading a few, and
99% of them were completly, hmm how to put it...irrelivant to anything
regarding my state of mind. Then I notice a few were minutes apart, one
lined and seamed like gibberish. I waited a few days, they kept comming so I
thought thats really weird, how is this dealing with anyones depression.
Then I posted.
Thats pretty much it, my intial post had an unfriendly tone to it, which
depressed people im thinking take very much as sarcasm. I wasnt intending to
bag anyone out, just state how I saw it from a newbies perspective.
Then came the sarcasm which way missed any point of anything which would
mean anything to anyone, I have a strong distaste for both sarcasm and
meaninglessness....i've done that for 10 years and im tired of it, but kept
banging my head.
So I think I orta stop doing that

Actually John, it was factual and accurate. Other people have
expressed the same thing.
That doesn't mean you won't enjoy it if you stick around. I don't get
this in my mail because it would be too much stuff. I visit it thru
Google Groups. You can choose not to get it in your email.
I'm off to bed or the easy chair or something. Getting sleepy.
