for instance, mine say 700mb
that's how much you can fit on there..........if you put all the photos into
your cd-writable folder, you can then check the properties and see how much
you got in there so far........

hold about 700 Mb. Therefore, about 280 pictures.

ahh, gotcha. that's alot of pics!!! i will see what each picture in my
folder averages...

my old photos are 1 to 2 megabytes uncompressed. used2be can click on a few
photos and guess the average size. if most of the photos are 500 kilobytes,
then:

500 kilobytes = 0.5 megabytes

700 megabytes per CD / 0.5 megabytes = 1400 photos per CD

if the photos are too big, you can compress them into jpegs. there may be
some less lossy compression too, into some other format. you can do all
sorts of tricks with Irfanview, i think. there may be some better editors
and compressors.

some programs like Kodak Easyshare compress when you email them, dunno about
CD burning.

some cameras appear to compress to jpeg, or compress with software right
after the transfer.
