Default losing touch with reality?

I feel like I'm losing touch with reality. Not literally; I'm not
delusional. However, I feel detached and unemotional. I'm often talking to
my millipedes even when I'm not near them, pretending to myself that they
are there. This behavior must seem odd to any strangers who notice it. Not
as odd is that I talk to Millie and Mollie when I'm home, and that I talk
to neighbors' pets and wild animals.

I would mention this to your doctor, I can understand what you're
feeling, although medication can usually help pull you out of these
moods. It may be that an antidepressant could be helpful.

I thought he was bipolar. Isn't giving someone that's bipolar an
antidepressent a Bad Thing? That's what I've heard.

It's not worth it now. I'm getting a new laptop harddrive from my sister
tomorrow if all goes well. Just one more day in this chair and then I'll
be back to the couch.

I'm online most of the time I'm home. I just do more than one thing at a
time. I don't do anything in my bed but sleep and occasionally watch TV.
I'm afraid if I did more than that I wouldn't be able to sleep. This way
my brain recognises bed == sleep.

I can see how that is. There's nothing wrong with being online.

I'm a postie. I talk to all the dogs on my run and the other animals too. I
don't want to get eaten.

Better to be seen as calm and nice (Not that I am) than throwing the mail
everywhere swearing.

LOL! You are nice, but I'm sure there are some nasty dogs out there that
need to be talked to extra calmly and nicely.

I talk to the animals because I like them, not because I'm afraid of
them. The animals usually sense instinctively that I'm friendly even
before I say anything.

Yea, until they're stabilized it generally is. It can often trigger mania.

Not as long as you're on a mood stabilizer as well. A bipolar on an AD
*without* a stabilizer can often be pushed into a manic cycle, but if taken
with a stabilizer there shouldn't be a problem. I have been on an AD
(Celexa) with two stabilizers (Epival and Lithium) for ten years and have
never had a problem.
