Default our child and adult selves

Sometimes it seems that we are most "ourselves" when we can draw up
thoughts, feelings, memories from childhood... sometimes we remember
feelings of enormous hope, energy and wonder, and spontanaeity, not to
mention a much better attention span that we had at times in
childhood... We never thought about our place in the world when we were
kids... we thought about our place in our paticular enviorment, but we
never thought much about our place in the grand scheme of things...
It's always an exciting feeling when you can recapture some of the
excitement and wonder of childhood... not that childhood wasn't also
very painful a lot of the time, but there was a feeling of being "in
the moment", and heighted sences that's very hard to recapture in
adulthood...
