i just knew you'd be going hard at it ,
i'm loading a new anti virus thing , 2 hour load

That's a long wait. I think the longest I've waited was an hour for all
the XP security updates.

i've done songs that took six hours ,
but i just left them and went out for the day ,
with this one i got showered , dressed ,
did my laundry , the dishes and cleaned the house

When I used to download with p2p I would download movies and it would take
days to get it all. When I downloaded all of Eric Clapton it took me a
week.

well this 2 hour one just stopped at 88% and its not going again ,
so there's 2 hours for nothing

I hate when that happens. That's why I use a download manager called Free
Download Manager. It let's you stop and start downloads. It's saved me a
few times when that happens.

mine lets me start and stop ,
but if it stops on its own ,
what do you do then

If you're downloading it with Firefox or IE, you're out of luck if it stops
itself. With FDM, you can resume it. You could possibly try closing Firefox
out, and opening it back up to resume the download.

i think it did that ,
i don't know what's happening now ,
i found another page that said ,
the same one i tried to load that was 14 MB ,
is now only 8MB ,
so i'm loading that one ,
i'll see what happens when its done ,
if it doesn't stop

Yea, but guess what, I put my failing laptop harddrive in the freezer for
a bit, and now it's booting up and staying up about five minutes at a time
so now I have something to keep me more busy, and a little hope to recover
some of the data! Go me!

smart thinking , very innovative , i think i got what i wanted too ,
it did a scan already , now its loading the latest updates

That's a lot, but it's a good thing. It took me about a minute to update
mine, but the Spybot S&D updates took me a long time.

spybot is a big one sometimes ,
i have a paid for version of Pest Patrol ,
its good for a half hour every update
