it. HAHA , this is so funny. You got to laugh. That is too funny.
I really don't think Dave meant what he said. Your always the one
who sees right thru that crap. You don't really believe in your heart
that he meant that I hope. dave is dave. You have to care about people
warts and all or it doesn't mean anything. there is good in him.
I hope all is well with you all up in Sac. Pretty weather the last
few days hunh. I hope it lasts awhile . Maybe by next spring that
wife of yours will be planning to plant something outside.

So what? Of course he didn't "mean" it, if by that you mean believe his
own lies. He didn't "mean" it when he accused me numerous times of
stealing from people here, either. But it isn't about "meaning" it.
It's about Dave routinely trying to hit people where he thinks they're
most vulnerable. It's about Dave being a sadistic prick. It doesn't
matter in the least whether he "means" it or not; in fact, he'd be a
lot less of a prick if he actually *did* believe the things he said.
> dave is dave. You have to care about people warts and all or it

No, you don't. I don't speak for Thor, obviously, but my life can be
good and meaningful without giving a shit about somebody like
"Persent". There are plenty of decent people in terrible pain to care
about who aren't sadistic pricks.
You ladies are amazing. This asshole pulls some of the nastiest shit
I've ever seen on this or any other newsgroup, and to you it's just a
"wart", and all you care about is oh, poor Dave must be in such pain to
be so mean, so let's just make excuses for him and reward him for his
behavior. Fuck that.
Sorry for jumping into a thread directed to you, Thor. But you're nicer
than I am, and wouldn't say these things. I'm just too fed up with
seeing this time after time, "Persent" treats people like shit and gets
defended by his fan club in every way from "aw, he must be in pain" to
that insane stuff about "thinning the herd". FUCK. THAT. Let him learn
something from this. If he's hurting now because he thinks people
"HATE" him, good: let him learn something from that. Let him learn to
treat others in such a way that he doesn't bring that level of hatred
down onto himself. If he deals with his own pain by trying to inflict
it on others -- which he has said, more than once, that he does -- let
him learn that that will only make him more miserable.
Like I said, he can be shit or not shit; the choice is his. Meanwhile,
I'm not about to waste a drop of compassion on someone who OVER and
OVER and OVER again chooses to devote entire nights to viciously
targeting people who have done nothing to harm him.

i assume you are talking about Dave. i've guessed that he is borderline or
antisocial PD. i don't really believe in the PDs, because they are more of
a personality trait, and there are 5 billion personalities out there. even
my social worker said that my OCD and AvPD were likely just part of me, and
have little to do with schizophrenia.
Persent may just be a troll, lol.

really. the guy is routinely defended and befriended by a few women he's
succeeded in beschmoozing over the years. i think they're susceptible to his
brand of manipulation similarly to the way charlie manson's girls were to
his. he intuitively knows their areas of emotional weakness, and attaches
himself there in ways that make him hard to remove.

after a few years of observation and occasional interaction, two things he's
posted sum him up for me. from one called "I ENVY MY CAT",
>kill , no trial , no court ,
>no parole ,
>if he don't like it , he kills it ,

and the other from a post i can't find right now, where he said, "i'm still

he'll quite literally tell any defamatory lie about anyone he chooses for
any length of time he chooses, using a technique known to a certain breed of
politician and oher kinds of scumbags, of making a lie true by relentlessly
repeating it in sometimes a dozen or more posts a day until people who don't
know better begin to believe it and those who do begin to wonder how he
could be so sure.
fairly bright, slectively charismatic, manipulative as hell, with the social
morals of a cat... for me, it adds up to sociopathy. as with a few others
here, he probably gives his mental illness much more play on usenet than he
does in real life. he's a threat only to those who, like him, have little to
no life outside newsgroup interaction and endow it with much more social
reality than is appropriate or safe to do. unfortunately these mental health
support/recovery groups draw more people in that situation than do a lot of
others. |

I could be way off here but I think dave chooses Thor to razzzzz or
worse for a reason. He counts on Thor to see that he is full of
shit. Thor has always had this way with dave of seeing right thru
him. Thor never takes the bait, he sees it is a game Dave is playing
to see what will happen. I think he is not that hurt by it.
Now if Dave went after some little newbie in that way ? shit I
would hope he would not do that. sigh, You know I am not really
defending Dave I am just saying its complicated. People are

Well, yeah. Thing is, this is his game. This is what he WANTS. You
were surprised when I realized that sometimes he's just posting for
attention. The reason is that this is the behavior that caught my
attention - the cycle of be nice, rope someone in, then be nasty until
that person hates you, and then complain that people hate you. We saw
this with Connie, et. al. And then that person is always surprised when
he turns on them, as if they couldn't see it coming a mile away.
It's a distinct dynamic. I don't know why he does it. But to me, he
very clearly WANTS people to hate him. That's one reason I won't give
him that payoff and hate him. That's exactly what he wants. So no, I
don't hate Dave. I think that's why he periodically goes/went after
wombn, she just stopped responding to him. She doesn't hate him either,
she's just doesn't care. And THAT seems to be a direct punch to his
stomach.
Dave has extremely low self-esteem, I'd say it's rock bottom. I'm not
into the whole self-esteem movement, but I do think it's can be an
important factor in understanding behavior. I think this drives a lot
of his behavior: his craving for attention, good or bad, and somehow
it's related to his drive to get people to hate him.
I'm not defending him or his actions. I do think there is a redeemable
person in there, I have seen moments where he does seem to be genuine.
Maybe it's an act, I don't know, but from what I can tell, I have no
reason to believe that. On the other hand, I think he's pretty damaged,
and he may very well be screwed, unable to pull out of this cycle he's
set up for himself. The few people I know who have been victims of
intense early childhood trauma, they seem scarred for life, they really
struggle with any meaningful change.
And, I hate talking about people in 3rd person in front of their face,
so my apologies Dave, I'm not trying to treat you like a non-entity. I
just wanted to get this out. I know you'll probably take what I wrote
as an insult and an attack against you. It's not. If you think about
it hard enough, I hope you can see that and understand it. |

thanks for the food for thought, Thor
I think wombn has the right idea
he's not important enough for me to hate (too much a waste of time, not to
mention energy expended), and that sort of thing doesn't fit in with what i
choose for my life.....
hate for a behaviour or ideolgy is one thing but no one person is worth it
(except maybe Bush lol).........
its better to just bop on down the lane on yer way and take in whats worthy
as much as possible........
take what you need and leave the rest
i've found that what you fill your life with, you oftentimes
become........if you fill it with shit, well........
i guess this is sorta like the old adage "you reap what you sow" (although
thats not exactly true either, very bad things happen to very good people in
this life who definitely do not deserve those bad things)
I think though it means inside the person
And those things they build on inside are reflected on the outside and in
facing life...........those things help people to grow when they embrace
them
both the good and bad but if you build up enough good, it sure helps when
the bad strikes........
people who've suffered severe abuse as children are not rare really I've
found, too
Most of those I've met haven't turned out to be assholes, in fact they've
been the some of the most creative and fascinating people I've
known...........
but I've also met those who have went from being the "abusee" to the
"abuser"
that is common, too
those types are definitely to be avoided, they're like a broken record, no
matter what age they reach
they have no interest in addressing their problems
they like the drama and misery and all the inherent bullshit that goes along
with it....and when they can't manipulate people or situations, they totally
spaz out
its an ugly thing
to be avoided at all cost
those kind suck one's life and health
emotional vampires, basically
when you add lotsa booze to the mix, well whaddya expect
still no excuse however
maybe it's more something related to that
like wet-brainism?
thats pretty serious and can cause behavioral/emotional problems/outbursts,
much as in dementia/alzheimer's patients............
I dunno, thats simply speculative
but it's not a concern for me anymore, thats for sure

Try this...deal with Cal and what Cal said without dragging me into the

in.

i don't think rhiannon is the kind of all-forgiving friend to him that some
of the other "friends" have been. you know, the kind who say, if anyone but
you had done this, it would be despicable and impossible to overlook, but
since it was you, it's ok.
sorry, but that's just fucked, as in pursuant to some kind of mind-fuckery
that's gone on before.
and i would just add that an apology with the subtext, "but i'll still do
whatever i want, including this very same thing or worse, the very next time
i feel like it," is absolutely meaningless, except as a pretext for those
who would have his friendship at any cost to hold up and say, "but see, he
apologized."

Try this ... I did deal with Cal. I
didn't ask you if you had reasons for
befriending % other than those Cal
described above. That would have been
'dragging you in'. I asked him a fair
question, imo.

Well, let's just say that I resent your
implication that befriending % is in
any way similar to being manipulated by
Charlie Manson ... and leave it at that.

Hi Nina. I normally don't go for the idea of thanking people for
agreeing with you, since it suggests they're doing it as a favor and not
because they simply agree, but... well, thanks for saying this. It can
be tiresome getting nothing but "nobody's perfect" type responses from

it's how i see an unconditional "befriending" of a man by women that seems
impervious to any amount of abusive and assaultive behavior by the man. not
exactly the same, but significantly similar. |
