Default chromium plus biotin improves glycemic control in Yale study

x-no-archive: yes

I'm not sure picolinate is the form of chromium I'd choose, but this
confirms a large body of research from the past:

http://www.diabetesincontrol.com/mod...ticle&sid=4471

"A daily supplement of chromium picolinate and biotin improved glucose
tolerance by 15 per cent, compared to placebo, says a new study from
Yale University.

The study looked at the effect of the commercially available Diachrome ™
supplement on the glycemic control and blood lipids of 36 overweight or
obese people with type 2 diabetes.

Writing in the journal Diabetes Technology and Therapeutics, lead author
Gregory Singer said: “This pilot study demonstrates that supplementation
with a combination of chromium picolinate and biotin in poorly
controlled patients with diabetes receiving antidiabetic therapy
improved glucose management and several lipid measurements.”

Why the uncertainty regarding picolinate? What would you choose?

When I take chromium, I take GTF.

There has been research suggesting DNA damage by picolinate, but not GTF.

I'd go GTF Chromium too. But R-ALA seems better as per my post a few days ago.

I see no reason to pay more; regular ALA completely reversed my
peripheral neuropathies.
