Default Contest - "Inspired by Diabetes"

http://inspiredbydiabetes.com

Inspired by Diabetes is a global campaign asking people with diabetes,
as well as their family, friends and healthcare professionals, to
express how diabetes has impacted their lives -- and share those
stories with others around the world.

Hey Girl,
Yes l do post here, but not often. l actually filled in the
info page honestly. Perhaps l am not smart enough to know how to shade
some truths. l think that you could win this since you have such a
magnificent way with words and because it is your support alone that
seems to be getting me through so far.

So does the winner of the contest get free diabetes meds or a free meter?

"The global grand prize winners will have their
entries featured on the Inspired by Diabetes
Web site and receive a trip to the opening of
the global exhibition. In addition, participants
from the United States will have their submissions
entered into a special U.S. contest with a
chance to win both the national and global
competitions. The U.S. grand prize winners
will also be featured on the Web site and
receive a trip to the opening of the U.S.
exhibition."

Conspiracy theorists and cynics aside, this seems to be a worthwhile
contest.

"When you enter the competition, you will receive
two "blue circle" diabetes pins, illustrating the
global symbol for diabetes. For each set of pins
distributed, a dollar will be donated by Eli Lilly
and Company to the International Diabetes
Federation's Life for a Child program, which
provides diabetes care for children in developing
nations. Lilly will also make a separate donation
to support the Life for a Child program on behalf
of entrants in the Inspired by Diabetes campaign
and will contribute funds to diabetes youth initiatives
in the U.S."

so why don't they just send all the money it costs to make the pins to
the charity? Illiminate overhead and increase charitable donations at
the same time.

What mind boggling concept.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's because some people like to focus their
efforts on diabetes awareness on a global scale and involve people in
sharing their stories and lives rather than bitching about everything
on a small newsgroup island.

But if the contest isn't your thing and you're worried about
charitable donations you can go here to find out how to donate
directly www.diabetes.org or www.jdrf.org

> What mind boggling concept.

Your mind sure has been boggling a lot lately. Surprised you have time
to be so grumpy and critical with all that boggling going on.

Your mind sure has been boggling a lot lately. Surprised you have time
to be so grumpy and critical with all that boggling going on.

Kurt

Personally, I think the ones bitching about the contest are the ones that
know, no matter what they couldn't win in a million years and they were
the only entry! Sad how some have nothing better to do then to bitch
and moan about every little thing.. They must have a very miserable life
at home. tsk tsk..
