Default COQ10

My wife and I are diabetics as well as high blood pressure and my
cardiologist has recommended that I take COQ10. Am researching on line now
but would like to hear from people taking COQ10 as to strength (?mgs), and
Brand. I see "Gero Vita" mentioned in our Sunday paper supplement and a
yahoo search is leaving me with questions.

Since your doctor recommended it, did s/he make any suggestions about what
brand or how much?

Was the CoQ10 recommended because you're being prescribed a statin,
which depletes CoQ10?

PDR for Nutr supplements rec 50-200 mg / day depending on statin dose.
Critical to take with largest meal of the day since fat is critical
for absorption.

The size of a person and the statin dose seem to be significant in
determining to CoQ10 dose.

Supplementing with CoQ10 is not cheap even with buying at WalMart.

Currently taking 100 mg. a day of COQ10 by Nutriceutical brand, sold by
Vitacost.com. Don't know if it's a fad or it's really helping. My doc.
takes it.
