Default Correction to the Ascencia Post

Guy, you may be right. I think maybe it was Aviva by Accu-Check, but I
can't be 100% sure. Never had them call me before. Anyway, the number is
1-866-311-2434. The lady told me that I could get up to 100 strips to
try. In other words, I wasn't being means tested. I don't know if it's
legit, but just in case, maybe some people here could use the info. If
the info is bad, don't blame me. LOL

Cheri

Cheri, I use an ascensia contour meter and I thought it was made by
Bayer..

I note there seems to be a lot of effort to help the suckers--
I mean customers now. I suspect it may be due to the
coming election.

The strips were called micro fil but they have dropped that name.

The strips are superior in the small sample needed and the
"sucking" up of the blood. They do take a bit longer to read.
They are pushing hard to get the meters out

If I wanted any certain meter I would call and ask
for a free one to try. I do not think it would hurt to
mention the diabetic group. and the publicity it
might get if it worked out well

I just ran out of strips and am using another meter now.
I ordered strips and they will come on the 24th. We need
to tell others that you can get strips at about half cost
from phone order firms. . Meter can be secured free.
Do not pay for the meter. Call and ask for a freebie
to try. Ted knows of good sources for strips..

I have always found the meter reps to be
nice people that are well trained.
Approach them in a nice way and say you are a
regular on this diabetic group which has wide
coverage.

I remember Charles Evans could get items
for us. many times. I am still using the finger
stick item he gave me.
Guy

I got the same sort of thing by mail offering me a free Aviva *or* Compact
Plus. I guess they're trying to boost market share....

I have an Advantage I got from the VA. They also will give me 50 strips for
90 days, free. I don't bother. I use One Touch Ultra or Ultrasmart.

I made my correction posting before I saw your correction. Did they
*cold call* you? Or, did you use accu chek products before? I wonder
how they got your info.

I got a free meter from them some time ago. I think rk posted the
number, and I wanted to try it. I assume that's how, though they've
never called me before. The strips are too expensive and I won't be
using it, but if you have one of the meters Bruce, you might want to
call the number. I don't know what questions they would ask or anything,
but the lady that called was quite nice.
