this type of transplant has been done for decades. The anti rejection
meds alone are why this is only reserved for those who are already in
renal failure and would other wise die. That and the fact that for
every dual transplant of this nature, the donor was a corpse and the
tissue match had to be close enough to allow the organ transplant in
the first place.
