Default Hot Chocolate

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7416646.stm

I hope my Green And Blacks 85% hasn't had any flavonols removed, it
sure doesn't taste like it.

Or the pure cocoa powder (memo to selves: cup of hot chocolate with
peppermint oil tonight)

Did you actually mean chocolate? Looking at the ingredients on
drinking chocolate packs, it's full of sugar. I drink cocoa with a
sweetener, much nicer IMO, contains much less fat than chocolate, and
no other ingredients. I presume the flavonols are all still there, and
if not they are in 100% cocoa chocolate, which I also like.

Nonono, proper genuine organic free trade Green And Blacks cocoa
powder, two (or three) tabs Splenda, stirred into a paste with milk,
add a few drops peppermint oil, top up with boiling water

Even when I ate/drank sugar I still preferred rolling my own to the
bought in "drinking chocolate"

Seconded. Never tried it with peppermint oil though. I'll give it a
go.

Be careful, the cheap crap from the supermarket is quite forgiving as
it's pretty dilute, but genuine peppermint oil from the organic shop
is several orders of magnitude more concentrated, one drop too many
and it will remove the lining from your nostrils (plus you get a
mentholated shit the following morning)

It might not be a good idea to mix the cocoa powder with milk. Milk is
known to interfere with the ingestion of flavonols from cocoa.

Didn't know that, but I've never been as fond of milk chocolate as the
dark stuff - or cocoa made with boiling milk as some folks prefer it,
I just use enough to mix the cocoa into a paste.

Good question, never tried it with hot chocolate. Experimental subject
required!
