Default Killer hot wings

Marinate in Texas Pete, add a little McIlHenny or other favorite hot sauce
if you like. I like some of the asian ones with some garlic.

Season flour with salt pepper and ceyenne.

Coat and fry.

Dip in Thia peanut butter sauce, just google for the recipe

You can eat them as is or put them in the oven after coating in the sauce.

Jimmie, my mouth is on fire. I would have to pass on that. But for
those that can eat hot stuff, it sounds delicious.

Hi Loretta and Jimmie,

I love hot stuff, but as I get older, I sense that maybe not all of it
really works for me... Maybe I just need to slow down and live what's
left to live. Don't get me wrong.... I grew up in Mississippi and
Louisiana. Hot stuff is a way of life down there, especially where
there was not always good refrigeration in former years. Where do you
think that way of cooking and eating came from? The hot stuff is what
makes things safe to eat...... in the absence of refrigeration. Many
of us developed a fondness for the flavors and the taste that became
part of tradition.

Nowadays, the flavorings and seasonings are so closely associated with
that regioin that they have become a cuisine all their own...

It is truly a beautiful way of life...

Make it as hot as you like. Marinating them in hot sauce really adds no
heat, just taste.

I'm with you. There was a time when I could make a pot of chilli that
would bring tears to your eyes by just smelling it. But those days are
long gone... and they took my stomach lining with them.

Ypu can make these so mild little girls eat them, my daughter likes them hot
but her friends love them becuse they have penut butter on them.
Hot or mild they are stil great. ITs just a really tastey dish that fits
into a diabetics menu.

Sounds great! I'm getting ready to fix some wings in a little while... as
soon as they finish thawing a little. Unfortunately, all I have is some
Hooters sauce so I it will have to suffice this time.

Sounds delightful. I make hot wings fairly often.
I also make "buffalo salad" with chunks of chicken (treated like
wings) and added to a large dinner salad.

Hot sauces don't make things any safer to eat, they just cover the
"off" smell and taste.

Sort of like that red rub they sprinkle all over meat and poultry at
times in the supermarkets. I've often wondered if people actually buy
that stuff. :-)

Actually, there is some evidence that some seasonings can retard the
growth of some pathogenic bacteria.....

Absolutely! Look at Parma hams - their only preservatives are smoke
and salt.

This is why salt and pepper were so valuable in the middle Ages; they
helped
preserve foods (mostly meats) so that when there was a slaughter in
the late
fall or early winter, some of the meat could be preserved for months.

Actually, true Parma hams of today are not smoked. Salt, along with
strictly controlled temperature and humidity and, of course, aging for
over a year, produces this delicacy.
