Default Kind of a strange question

Hi,
Does anyone else have dry scalp when their sugar level gets high? I
notice that when I don't have anything with sugar, it is fine. But, on
the days I mess up and it gets really high, the next day, my scalp is
dry. Freaks me out. Is this normal?

Maybe you're getting dehydrated? I don't have that problem so I don't know.
But maybe my BG has never been really high. What sort of numbers do you
mean?

Before dx (diagnosis), I used to get an all over body itch, especially in
the nether regions!! And I would get these hot flushes (which I thought was
pre-menopause!) which sometimes resulted in a few heat bumps.

If I eat a meal that's perhaps a bit too big a portion, my flushes come back
and I get the itch!

I am guessing that our bodies all react differently to high bg.

Lol, that brought back memories of my first nursing home job! I had no idea
there were so many ways to talk about the nether regions without actually
calling the area by its name!

Not sure of the exact cause Cindy, but you may want to read that CNN
article I just posted about glycation and sugar damage to skin...

It's common in folks who have Cushing's syndrome a not uncommon occult
condition leading to type 2 DM. Some folks find it extends to facial
skin, or they get bumps/boils, too.

Your body can get dehydrated trying to dump the excess glucose through
the kidneys. Perhaps this is coming into play with your dry scalp.

And in Australia they refer to it as Tasmania, look at a map to see why!

My friends daughter ran into the room and announced her little brother had
kicked her in her "island spot"..we were like you what?

She pointed to her privates and when it registered what she ment we nearly
all fell on the floor laughing!

We asked her why she called it that she just shrugged and said thats her
name for it.

Sorta makes sense in a wierd way i spose....lol
