Well, had my annual physical (4 months after I turned 40... but I did
get around to it

and my labs are in as well...
In December i wrote:

My A1C is still 5.6% which is amazing to me since I feel like I was not
doing as well this last six or so months. My VLDL is 21 so virtually no
change there.

My HDL is 33 so, also, no real change there either. I should be doing
more about it. I did increase my fish oil intake and also began taking
4,000 IU Vitamin D (gelcaps) per day. But I need to get better about
flax seeds/oil and more fish in general.

Some here said that my LDL may have gone up as a result of my diet
changes. Well, they stayed up. Clocked in at 168. So, not as high as
last time but still way too high.
Also my Trigs are 105. My PSA normal (phew!) and my
Microalbumin/Creatinine ration is 3 which he said was lower than HE
probably was. My BP was 129/76. My weight (on their scale which is
always 5 pounds heavier than MY scale) is 237. My Fasting glucose at
blood time was 116 which is a bit higher than my usual 100-109.
My doctor understands why I didn't take the lisinopril he prescribed
last December but thinks the time has come to get moving.
So, I have in my hand prescriptions for
Enalapril Maleate 2.5MB 1/day
(he said of all the drugs in this class, it has the lowest chance of
causing a cough). And I have Simvastin 20MG 1/day. He wants me to start
the simvastin for 2 weeks and then start the elanapril (he doesn't like
starting more than 1 drug at a time to check for side effects).
So, that's where I'm at today. I'm happy that I'm in good shape except
for the cholesterol and blood pressure but not happy about the need for
drugs. Meh.
