I guess I'm lucky. No one in the health profession has said anything like
that to me in years. When I was first told I might have GD, I did have a
nurse tell me to eat more fruits, vegetables and soup. Why soup? I don't
know. She even suggested that I eat cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches,
telling me they were a good thing to pack for the beach because they didn't
need to be refrigerated. Say what? I took everything she said and did with
a huge grain of salt though. I used to reduce her to tears whenever I
needed a blood draw. She simply couldn't do it. I finally had to go
straight to the lab, avoiding her all together.

I lost 45 pounds strolling, ambling, and sauntering. If I had to walk
briskly, I never would have kept with my daily walking program.

I saw a lot of brisk walkers pass me by, but I don't think they were
enjoying walking as much as I was.

howcum I've never seen a jogger smiling?"
