Default Loat, deleted posts

I just opened my computer to find that all posts from the 27th through
yesterday were gone, probably accidentally deleted while I was resting and
finishing my book yesterday. My mouse probably did not get turned off while
I was not using my computer, and since I've been sick, my cats have been my
constant companions so really *anything* could have happened while my
computer *slept* at the end of the couch in its place! LOL

This irks me because I was feeling better the last time I was reading, and
had flagged a few messages to which I wanted to reply. Oh, well, must have
been a good reason. *s* There were a lot of unread messages, though, as
I've been trying to catch up.

Billie........ picking up with what is left over........ less that 100! WOW
might have time for personal email. LOL

Aww I would try deleting the newsgroup and re-subbing to
start over and catch what I missed Or try and read it
through Google.

Ozgirl is correct. You will be able to read everything through Google
since the posts are not stored on your pc.

Hi Billie,

There may be a way to recoup the lost messages/headers...

I see you use Outlook express, and while I do not use Outlook Express,
in both News Rover and Agent, there is a way to re-download all your
messages, or only a certain number of previous messages, in case that
very problem happens... deletion of messages by mistake.

Perhaps someone more of a guru in Outlook Express can help you out.

Jan, I've been using Google to fill in some gaps, but I had thousands of
unread posts from the past five/six weeks or so, but more importantly are
those I had flagged the last couple of times I was able to read here.
Ptosis makes reading extremely difficult, especially the computer, so I
*pick-n-choose* my threads and messages for when my eye muscles are
strongest.

I did delete the newsgroup and resubbed, but it didn't work. Oh, well.
In the grand scheme of things, this ranks very low, and nothing to get bent
out of shape about. I mainly wanted to explain why I'm not responding to
some posts..... unless I just happen to see them at Google. Not ignoring
anyone on purpose.

Thanks,
Billie

You can just go under "Current View" and check "Show all messages".

Thanks, Will. Now that I think about it, I could open Agent and read them
there. My filters are not as complete as I have them here, so would have a
bunch of trash to wade through, but that would be better than Google; more
personal. I'll just have to see how much I feel like doing.

Hugs from Arkansas to Virginia,
Billie

That is where I keep my view, Julie. There is just a chunk missing, totally
deleted. I went from several thousand (from being away for over a month) to
less than one hundred! An accident on my part. It would have been easy for
them to become highlighted, then accidentally deleted.

Thanks for your suggestion,
Billie
