Default Low Testosterone In Men May Be Diabetes Risk Factor

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Men with testosterone levels in the low-
normal range are much more likely to have diabetes than those with
higher levels, whether or not they are obese, researchers report in
the journal Diabetes Care.

"Low testosterone levels are common among men with diabetes and there
is growing evidence that low testosterone may be a risk factor for
developing diabetes," Dr. Elizabeth Selvin from Johns Hopkins
Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore commented to Reuters
Health.

There is something of great interest here, Kurt... Thanks for your
post. There is a perverse inverse relationship at work between the
incidence of diabetes and prostate cancer.

Here is a link to an article discussing research re prostate cancer
and the inverse link to diabetes... Could it be that in some men,
lower levels of testosterone are associated with lower rates of
prostate cancer? I guess we shall all stay tuned to find out...

Is this the chicken and then the egg or the revesrse ?

There has also been a study saying that males with diabetes 'often' have low
levels of zinc.

Zinc ups the testerone levels ( remember oysters ?).

All of us (guys ?) should (?) be taking zinc supplements.

There are a couple of routine blood tests for testosterone.

Well, of course they could ,Tom.........if you requested it, but, if you are
diabetic and feeling a loss of that nagging early morning 'itch'.....eat
some zinc. No harm done, eh? Experience the results....or not.

This is my personal experience, of course, but, check your fingernails. If
you see white 'clouds' you 'might' be dificient in zinc. Personally, I have
observed this in myself for 30 years."Clouds" in fingernails...eat zinc.
Zinc eaten for several months....no "clouds" on fingernails.

Does this have an effect on my Type 2 diabetes ? I don't know.

So studies have also shown that Type II causes low
Testosterone. Chicken Egg, Egg Chicken.
