Well, it seems
Zantac is off my list too. I spent pretty much all day
yesterday in bed. Didn't really feel sick at that point but didn't really
feel well either and was really exhausted. By last night I had a killer
headache. Didn't relate it to the Zantac at first. Duh!
Not long after the headache started I got sick to my stomach. Threw up
about 5 times. That seemed to be the gastroparesis and most likely came
about from eating 12 olive bar olives with lunch. I seem to be able to eat
the cheapish ones from a can or jar but not the ones from the olive bar. I
think they have more fat in them or something. I managed to eat a few on
Father's day and they didn't give me problems but I didn't eat that many.
Guess I should just stop trying because I hate throwing up.
Headache only got worse to the point where I was seriously wishing I would
just die right then and there. But it didn't happen. Eventually became
concentrated around one eye and down into my neck. I stayed in bed again
all day today but it was rather torturous since I slept so much yesterday.
At one point I even felt like I had drifted out of my body and then began to
feel pain free.
Daughter was out all day with husband. She came home at dinner time and
then laid down with me for a while and rubbed my neck. That helped to
lessen the pain.
Am feeling much better now. Still hurts a bit around the eye and neck is
still a bit stiff but it's much more tolerable. I have used tweezers to
pick all the Zantac out of my pills for the week. Of course I did just
stock up on the damned things and the package is open so I can't return
them.
I don't know what's next. Dr. said with Barrett's Esophagus I can't go
without some kind of meds for it. So far every one of them has given me a
crushing headache and some have had additional problems as well like nausea,
diarrhea or the bubbling sensation of having swallowed a few whole Alka
Seltzers followed by a water chaser. Gah!
I am not going to start the statin until at least next week. I don't think
it's a good idea to take two new pills at once.
