| | | Meters with class I see, by the TV ads, that the One Touch now comes in party shades and hues.
bout time! Now, how about some maybe rainbow colored strips. Diabetes is
dull enough without having to fumble around with depressingly drab looking
testing stuff. Good thing they got smart cause I was just about to ask my
doctor to switch me from diabetes to something more festive.. maybe
pellagra. anybody tried that?.. or maybe that Hawaiian disease, lacka..
right, that one.

Personally, I don't care if it comes in fluorescent magenta
with whistles and tunes or dull grey and silent as long as
it works.

I recently had my Free Style Mini in need of batteries while on holiday.
I was diagnosed a year ago in April, so this was new to me.
I was told that if I had a prescription renewal of test strips, the unit was
free for replacement instead of buying the batteries which were going to
amount to over $10.00 for the two of them.
I asked how much the unit was, and was told it was just over $8.00.
I opted to buy the unit instead of purchasing the batteries, because I
obviously did not have my prescription while on holiday and the unit was
cheaper than the batteries.
I'm not sure if this is the case everywhere but thought I'd let you know the
units are free with prescription renewal of your test strips.
Not that under $10.00 dollars CDN including taxes is a huge amount to have
to pay but every bit helps and I thought this was a good tip to note in case
anyone else was in the same boat one day.

You have an idea about the strips. Life scan might be interested in
your idea
or you can go on that show about the inventions.

This is certainly not true everywhere!
And not even for different USA people in the same place if they have
different insurance coverage.

Rite-Aid brand. Haven't looked for them lately.
If you want a more colorful disease, though you can't actually *see* the
color, you could get something like thyroid cancer & get to "glow"
radioactively for a while after treatment, & glow lesserly for checkups.

I was considering leprosy but my interest fell off after a while
The Menarini meters we get in Europe are also brightly coloured, maybe
it's to encourage the kids who use them. The strips are still boring
though. I use the Optium Xceed which is silver and black, looks pretty
to me anyway.
