Default My Christmas

At Christmas we always have my Aunt and Uncle over for Christmas dinner. Mom
was going to cancel it this year but I told her is was ok and talked her
into doing it.

Because I can't eat hardly any of the food they had and because even the
smell of some foods makes me sick, I stayed in my room most of the time,
especially while they were eating.

I've been doing better with my Celiac but not so well with diabetes. My last
A1c was 8.2 the doctor changed my insulin, decreased my Lantus and raised my
insulin ratio. It might not be enough because I still get high, over 200,
after eating. I only go to counseling once a week now and to the Celiac
doctor every other week. They said I could go back to school next year but I
would rather not. Mom has been homeschoolding me, I'm not sure if I will
ever graduate from High School.

Dad bought me a new big HDTV. It covers half the wall in my room. He said
was because I have to spend so much time there. Relatives gave me a lot of
clothes, CDs and DVDs.

Sorry I'm late but Merry Christmas to everyone on ASD.

Madison

Homeschoolers I have known have been interesting people - you get an
original outlook on life, and oftentimes a maturity, that high school kids
don't have. When I'm interviewing youngsters for jobs, the occasional
homeschooler tends to shine... You're a bright kid, Madison, you'll do fine.
If necessary, you can get degrees all the way to Masters from home...

Have a New Year in which your health continues to improve!

Nicky.

madison,

Glad to hear that you are picking up a bit adn able to et more. The
stress of your Celiac and upset innards is probably, making it harder fo
ryou to contrl the diabetes. As your innard settle down, it, hopefully,
will get esier to manage.

Don't make descisions about not going back to school now. You have time
and yorubody should continue to heal. As you do, life will seem to be
more exciting and you are likely to want to share in it. Right now, your
family, yur room and your huse seem like a refuge to you. when they begin
to feel like a prison, you may find you want to get back to life among
others adn school will seem like a better idea. You are a bright yung
woman and should be able to not only finish High School, but perform well
at college. Time will do wonders for you.

I wish you all the best for a fantastic new yer with lots of things
exciting you and letting yu get outside yurself. Please keep us informed,
as we all care a great deal about you.

I have got better but it might not last. I have got better before and then
got even sicker later. The doctor still has me on a restricted diet, he adds
new foods every week or 2. So far it is working, he thinks I have reactions
to more foods than just gluten, and he must be right.

I asked my Dad to connect my computer to the TV. I like to play the Sims and
it looks awesome. Dad is going to get me a wireless keyboard and mouse so I
can sit anywhere and play, even in my bed.

Mom is a substitute gym teacher, we are both learning the subjects she is
teaching me, some of the things I teach her. I have a hard time
concentrating on my work, before I loved school and liked to study and do
well, now I just want to pass the tests.

I did feel like I was a prisoner in my body and in my house and my room.
I've come to realize that as bad as I am, there are people that are a lot
worse that have done great things. I don't think I will ever do anything
great, I only hope I can get married some day and maybe even have children
that are not sick like me. That will be a long time in the future if ever.

You have a Happy New Year too.

I do have faith now, everyone has helped me especially my parents and my
therapist. I think I can face whatever happens.

I didn't see you posting for a while, maybe I just missed it.

Madison, everyone has a story, some worse than others. I havent been
posting for a while because I am in the process of getting divorced. It
has been a hard year, but I know that next year will be brighter and
happier for you and for me and hopefully for everyone else out there.

To make a bad pun, that too shall pass. I think, with time, yur love of

Best way to learn - for both of you : )

Don't sweat about your current disinterest. Something will grab you again.

Are you able to swim just now? And how's your cat doing?

even adults have a hard time accepting that we can only
"realistically" expect "progress" over time, not perfection. If
anyone comes at you with an attitude of "you should have instant
solution, or cure by now" walk away from them. They haven't a clue
about reality let alone anything going on in your life.

Sounds like your doc is on the right track. I know when in the past
certain meds would appear to work to prevent migraines and others to
appear to help with the pain of neuropathy only to stop working after
a few months I would feel like giving up. But things slowly got
better. I haven't been laid up in bed for 3 days at a time in so much
pain that I wished for someone to just put me down, in a very long
time now.

It's okay to get angry, and even depressed, and even angry at God and
even jealous of friends and family who don't have the same problems.
The key is not to keep all that emotion bottled up inside. Write
about it in a journal. Talk about it with your parents, and your
medical team.

Cool deal. I've got the entire sims 1 collection, but I have never
gotten around to playing it. I like games like Civ City Rome, Civ
City, Civilzation 4 etc.

You still have that cat? Put one of those aquarium screen savers and
watch the cat try to find the fish. Mine do. They used to lose
interest on the smaller screens after about 20 minutes but on the big
screen they will play with the screen for up to an hour or more.
