Presumably you were testing your BG? If so, did you find that it did
indeed increase your BG?

Thanks for posting these links Alan. I recently stopped taking a
statin (well, several weeks ago) and this week started taking niacin.
I haven't broken the news to my doctor yet. Next blood work will
tell, I guess. |

After reading up on the "non-flush version (Inositol Hexaniacinate) is
worthless" sections in the links you posted I'm thinking that maybe I
should give the standard version another chance. However, while the
non-flush version may not help with cholesterol levels, it does seem
to help the body adjust. The (faily low) dose of regular niacin that
had caused flushing in me did not cause flushing after I had been
taking the non-flush version for a while and then switched back as a
test. So I'm planning to increase the dose and see if the flushing
returns (and if so, at what dose). |

Best wishes. Let us know how the experiment goes. I haven't
actually started yet, apart from eating Vegemite, so I'm
still looking at what's available locally.

I tried to post this before but for some reason it bounced back to me. I did
try what they said. To drink lots of water. Did not help me with the
flushing at all. Only massive amounts of food did that. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
