| | | Oh my word ! Hi KC and everyone,
I said I would let everyone know about me and the Byetta.
At first even after watching the tutorial I still didn't do it right and
thought "hey no nausea" Well let me tell you all something LOL I am sitting
here ready to die !
Loretta, you are right about the eating and the Byetta. Well I ate what I
usually do for supper and thought I was going to hurl big time. I took a Phenergan for N/V and it is helping some. Still sicker than a dog gone dog
right now and supper was at about 7:30 - 8.
But am I quitting? No sirrreeeee. If it makes me too sick to eat I am for it
just as long as I lose this dreadful weight. Can't take this pain from the
high numbers all the time.
I hope the nausea doesn't last the whole time I am on it though. Feeling
full I can deal with but painful nausea to where I think I am dying can't
have it LOL
Anyway thanks everyone for your help and support in this. I am still trying
and me and Byetta will fight to the bitter end. :-)
God Bless :-) |

I am on the 5 dose, I think that is the lowest. I have been reading the
groups archives on this and also on the web and I think what I am doing is
normal.
I dropped like a rock because I did a no no. I don't know how to straggle
the doses so I took the Byetta with my insulin of Novolog and I was almost
400 before eating and 175 two hours later and now I am up again to 203.
On something I saw that a rare poster here has a huge website can't think of
his name but anyway I ate the wrong stuff too LOL. I had something like a
noodle hamburger casserole and it had lots of garlic and I am reading spices
is not the best thing to eat :-) Not to mention I didn't lower the portion
and that too was a huge mistake I won't make again LOL Oh yeah and I took my
2 Metformins 1000 mg each at the same time too. |

I hope you feel better later. Yeah, I would think that the Metformin
at the same time might be extra hard on the digestion. It sounds like
you have ideas of how to make it better next time. Please keep
letting me know how it goes. I am scheduled to see my endocrinologist
to talk about it on Monday. If I do get it I will be extra careful to
eat less food the first meal after I take it, and to stagger my meds,
so that hopefully it won't be as bad as you are experiencing.

I will let you know and good luck on Monday. I think you have the right idea
with the staggering and eating less to begin with. I ate the same tonight
with the Byetta and got really sick and painful in my abdomen that I had
last night taking the Byetta 45 minutes before. I only took it right at
mealtime tonight and that wasn't good I don't think.
I have to watch spices too because I do love spicy food but not with this
Byetta stuff LOL.
Fortunately I had Phenergan for the N/V I get with my migraines and took one
and prayed it stayed down.
Let me know too if you go on it and how it works for you. I have been
reading where people that are type 2 are losing some really adequate weight
with it. Some didn't even exercise in the studies done and since I can't
exercise that meant alot to me. They lost the same as those who did.
I am really hoping this is my hope of being in control finally. |

Way to go, Diana! Hope you work out the best way to take it alongside
your other meds soon. Don't forget you have to work with the drug to
get its best effect...

you have to expect it to be a struggle at first :-)

You will continue to be sick if you continue to eat regular portions.
It goes away in a few months and even the weight loss stops, as it did
for me. but it is a good head start . My numbers are fabulouus. They
are not all over the place, I dont experience lows and I dont have
highs. I love it. Just get pass this and you will feel good.
Feeling like you are dying from it is actually better than dying from

not pay a price, i.e., nauseau or vomiting or both.
I take metformin and byetta, byetta one half hour before meals, are you
doing that, and the metformin after dinner at night

For me, that is the most profound effect of the Spit. *I* have the
choice now, and I never felt like I had it before. I sit down to a
wonderful meal. I start eating, and (for the first time in my life) I
soon feel satisfied - long before I stuff myself.
I know I **can** eat more, and on occasion, I do. But most of the
time, I just give in to the gentle feeling that there are other things
that interest me more - a feeling I NEVER felt before the Spit.
NOW I know how non-Diabetics experience hunger and eating!
Without serious effort, I continue to lose weight and my numbers have
not been better since (presumably) before diagnosis. Byetta hasn't changed my life. It has GIVEN me my life.

Thanks Nicky. I sure am trying :-) I think I figured out how to take it and
deal with it from reading the archived messages. Hopefully will do better

Thanks Loretta. I think I have it figured out now after reading alot of
ASD's archives on this and researching more of the side effects on line. I
won't be making the mistake of having a normal meal again that is definite.
I can deal with less food than I can the pain and nausea it caused. |

Again thanks Loretta. I took it about 45 minutes before I ate night before
last and never had nausea. Last night , I don't cook, so anyway I didn't
know dinner was finished and took it just moments before eating as I know
you are to eat within the first hours and didn't want to miss the dose just
because it was right on time to eat.
I too take Metformin but I took it with the Byetta. I did not vomit but the
pain and nausea was bad enough so won't be making those types mistakes
again. |

Hi Diana,
Sorry you are feeling so poorly....on the other hand, it seems like
you are reacting the same as many others, so that's probably a good
thing, considering all the success they report. :-) I bet you learn
what to do and what not to do to work with the Byetta so it doesn't
hit you like a ton of a bricks. I'm so glad you are trying this new
avenue.
Keep us posted!
