Each of our dead is to be remembered and mourned.
Surely not just from Iraq.

Let us remember the U.S. dead fighting other dictatorships during
the nearly 4 years of WWII which would be represented by over
400,000 asterisks (and too big for a message here). Few families
were left untouched by WWII.

Let us remember some by name: Remember especially the 5 Sullivan
brothers who were killed during November of 1942 fighitng in the
Solomons:

George Thomas
Francis Henry
Joseph Eugene
Madison Abel
Albert Leo

And also remember Allen Tupper Brown, 2nd Lt, who was killed in a
tank battle on the road to Rome in May of 1944. The Chief of Staff,
U.S. Army, personally informed his mother Katherine. Allen Tupper
Brown was General George C. Marshall's step son.

Let's not forget the 550,00 killed in the very unpopular Civil War which
included draft riots.

Lincoln was hated for that war and assassinated for his determination to
keep the Union together. Now, he's viewed as one of the greatest presidents
ever and hailed by liberals and conservatives alike.

If the issues in that war revisited us today, we'd be two nations instead
of one.

But Lincoln didn't rush into another country to AFTER LYING to millions
that
there were WMD's as well as going in that country to kill a man that tried
to
kill his daddy and went back after him purely for REVENGE!

BIG DIFFERENCE..

I remember the Sullivan law because out of their deaths there became a
law. Unfortunatgely, I do not remember any of the other servicemen.
Were they personally known to you.

Pay people like Colonel Bippy no never you mind Reisa. They try to
distract us from the present situation by talking about the number of
casualties from other wars that we forced into. They conveniently
overlook the cause of this war in Iraq - that is the lies of Bush,
Cheney, Rove and Rummsfeld. Not one single American life needed to be
lost in a war of conquest. Our troops in Afghanistan had Al-Qaeda and
the Taliban on the run, but the Bush bunch had decided before Bush
ever took office to take Saddam Hussein down and get control of Iraq
and its oil regardless of the cost. So now we are faced with an
insurgence in Afghanistan and a religious civil war in Iraq that is
none of our business. It a sad state of affairs that our elected
members of Congress are afraid to impeach Bush and Cheney even though
they didn't hesitate to impeach Clinton for lying about his private
sex life (something they had no business asking about). Perhaps things
would be different if Bush had someone like Monica under his desk in
the early years of his administration.

Hmm...if Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld all lied about WMD to start a war in
Iraq, why didn't those guys simply plant some WMD using black ops,
Halliburton or Blackwater contractors and avoid getting caught in a lie?

How did so many others believe that Saddam had WMD?

Why did Bill and Hillary believe it and fully support the invasion? Most
Democrats supported it.

Tony Blair, British and German intelligence all believed Saddam had WMD.

Colon Powell believed it.

Well, no WMD was found and none was planted either.

There is an Iraqi defector who swears that WMD did exist and was moved to
Syria during the long months that Colon Powell spent at the UN trying to get
their approval, but no one, not even the Bush admin., is interested in what
that defector has to say.

Bush is busy trying to get the Iraqi government stablilized so we can leave
Iraq and not have the kind of wholesale bloodshed that we had when we
abruptly left Viet Nam. About 3 million people were murdered by the
communists in Vietnam and Cambodia, but the left, including John Kerry,
never said boo about it.

Try to imagine for a few minutes what our ancestors during the
American Civil War would have done if one of the European countries
had invaded and said something like, "We are here in order to make
sure the North and the South do not destroy each other and we will
leave once you come to an agreement and stop killing." You and I both
know they would have continued to fight, but they would have devoted
more resources to driving the invaders out. The three sects in Iraq
will never try to settle their differences so long as the infidel
American soldiers occupy any of their land.

They haven't tried to do that in all of history Chuck. What makes you think
they would if we pull out? Establishing a STRONG police presence is what
needs to be done by the Iraqis, and we are there in the interim. Its not
the clans that want us out anyway, its the insurgents that are sparking the
problems. They want to wear us down, until our citizens here get wimpy and
want to pull our troops out. That's the whole plan. If we pull out then we
play into their hands and we've wasted every effort and every gain we've
made for the Iraqis over there. That is just foolish.

In there eyes Americans are all infidels because most are not Moslem.
As such the Americans are desecrating their land by our very presence.
They will never tolerate it for any length of time. Are you not aware
that many still hate all Christians because of the Crusades?

Bush and Cheney deserve to be impeached for high treason, tried and
sentenced to life behind bars for their treasonous acts.
