| | | OT but funny Today my cat entered the bathroom while I was there. He walked around
snifing then jumped into the bath tub. I figured he was looking for water
but I knew the tub was bone dry as I had just cleaned it. I reached in to
turn on the water and to my surprise he was sitting on the drain peeing. I
guess he has seen me in the shower once to often. LOL 8-)) |

Many moons ago, eh? I guess it's all in your point of view.

Our cat much prefers the bath to going outside in the rain - grrr! We
have ongoing discussions about this... but unless everyone remembers
to shut the door, the cat often wins : (

This cat thinks he is a person, besides peeing in the tub when he sleep
instead of laying on a pillow he just puts his head on the pillow.
We also have an 18 year old cat that can say MILK when she wants it and can
open closed doors if they have the lever type handle.

I have one who can open with a doorknob. We have six cats and we try
to keep them out of the bedroom. We kept finding the bedroom door open
and we blamed each other. One day I was alone in the house and sitting
in the living room. I heard the bedroom door open, and jumped up to
find Moe running down the hall with a guilty look on his face. I wish
I had set up a video camera to catch him in the act, because I can't
for the life of me figure out how he was doing it. I switched the door
to an exterior lock set that needs the turn of a key to open. |

Awww I'd love to hear the milk one. A person in another newsgroup I
frequent had to recently change his lever handle to a round knob. It's
driving the cat insane but at least it stops him getting outside. |

Was it a knob or a lever? |

The first time I noticed it I almost freaked. She has the usal assortment of
meows for everything else but when it comes to wanting a saucer of milk
there is one distinct sound she makes and it is unmistakablely MILK. With
age(18) its not as distinct as it used to be but my wife and I can always
tell exactly what she wants when she wants it. Her meows for pet me and I
want out are not so clear.

Mine can open levers. She hangs from them. She can also open this weird
little closet door in my bedroom with an extra strong magnetic catch on it
that is next to impossible for me to open. Yet she gets it easily with her
paw.
But the worst thing she does is steals bags of cat treats. She manages to
get them no matter where I hide them. Then she bites a little hole in the
bottom or side, depending on how the bag is made. She then inserts both
paws, and scissors her legs back and forth, opening the bag as far as
possible.
She then takes this a step further by hiding the bag from my view and very
carefully hiding the treats all over the house. In shoes, in the bookcase,
in her perch, etc. Little brat! |

My cat says "milk" too. She also says, "map, map, map" which means there is
some kind of interesting animal in the yard. |

I had a Siamese once that could open a doorknob; and now have a
Russian Blue that does the same. He would grab it in both paws and
rotate the knob back and forth until it clicked open. One night he did
that during a snow storm. Since then we have learned to click the dead
bolt!

Howdy Julie,
Strong cat!

Sounds like she really wants into those bags and pouches of treats...

Humm, LOL sounds like she's trying to get rid of them! Hiding them
all over the place and hiding the bag to make it look like they never
came into the house. Could be she's telling you their not the greatest
things in the world to her. <snicker>
She actually eats what she hides? Must be really good treats or a not
so picky kitty. You're lucky... my sister's cats, never wanted to eat
anything out of a bag, can or pouch that wasn't just opened. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
