| | | OT Totally 100% Sharing ;-) I was just reading, and checking up on my blog. As I was checking out the
links, I thought you all might like to see the latest pictures I have of
Jim, Debbie, Ashton, and son Jimbo. I know I like to see faces of people
spoken of, plus the one with Jim gives you a bit of the mood of last weekend
with Ashley and the baby here. I especially like this picture because when
you view the large picture you can see the drop of drool on Ashton's chin.
I'm such a sucker for babies. lol
I know most people do not share openly like I do, but then most people are
not in the same position as I and my family are in, or are like us, well,
mainly me, who join in (and trust) the virtual family. But a virtual,
support group family has seen me through some really, really rough times in
the past ten years, and the odds are of that continuing. In fact, I found a
support group for prostate cancer, and it is very warm, and helpful to me,
as a wife. You all know Jim is not the most talkative in a group setting,
so I just barged right along, seeking whatever it might be that I needed,
having not a clue what it was that I needed. hahaha
Please do check out the new pictures, though, especially the one that has
Jim in it, even if it is just a side view, Precisely Tuesday http://andlifegoesononedayonestepata...other-day.html

Billie, thanks so much for sharing your family pics and your thoughts
with us.
Loneliness and the stresses of dealing with a loved one's illness while
unable to do all you want to be able to do to help yourself and the
other has to be so very frustrating and scary.
It's a special gift of yours to be able to focus on the beauty to be
found in every day.
I wish you weren't being tested so very completely all the time, doll.

Very nice Billie, and it goes to show that you're one of my favorite
people because my computer is old and take a long time to load urls,
but I do check your blog often. :-)

public viewing but if anyone here is interested in seeing my brood, please
email me at news_only@hotmail.com and I will send you a guest pass. I might
not get around to it until later as Jasmine needs a face x-ray this morning
after being hit by someone at school. With what I don't know but it pierced
her forehead (which required penicillin because of her heart problems) and
the doc wants to rule out a broken orbital bone.

LOL I was telling Jim about what I told Cheri in another thread about not
being able to be there for the last step, the last hand hold, the last kiss.
Slurp! And I couldn't remember exactly what I said, and I told him "Puke!"
and he burst out laughing!
I will probably be sharing more of my thoughts here between now and the
19th, that I do not want to put in my blog because there are some things I
do not especially want my kids to read, know, etc. In addition to coping
with their own feelings, they have the awesome task of also seeing after mom
and dad. My dil got to work today (surgical nurse) and found out she has
from the 19th to the 27th off from work. They were excited about that, both
by being able to be free to help out so freely, and also to be give me peace
of mind of him being taken care of.
Everyone is coming up to the plate to bat. I just have to really work on
myself about my feelings about not coming home from the hospital. I usually
am upbeat upon release, so I will just wait and cross that bridge at that
time, and remind myself I do not borrow trouble from tomorrow. Still,
though, I am human. *s*
Thank you for the sweet comment.
If I had my choice, I'd prefer not to be tested so frequently and
completely, too, but I have to look at it as to what God wants me to get
from the situation, and not "why me again."
Thanks, Susan

Jasmine's face is ok, they ended up doing a CT scan, 3 attempts before she
lay still enough. Seems like the attack was "territorial". She was sitting
at a table in the school grounds, the table was one another girl has claimed
as her own. The kid who did it had nothing in her hands but the injuries as
well as the pierced forehead aren't really consistent with just using a
hand.
We will never know, neither child is capable of saying what happened and the
staff were dealing with another incident at the time. Bottom line is she is
ok and that's the main thing. Jasmine is territorial as well and no way she
would voluntarily give up sitting at a table without a fight |

Waving back at you Trinkwasser (is that your name, or what?).
Thanks for the kind words, and you are sooo right, but we have to go with
the cards we are dealt with. No need trying to buck against them. They'll
win every time. It's better to try - and I do emphasize *try* - to keep an
upper hand on them, diabetes being one of them.

Oh, Paul, they really appreciated it, too. We talked about it this morning
during "our time." They said you must be a very nice man to think of them.
They send their warmest regards. Missie is going through some kind of
changes right now, and picking up some new personality traits she's never
shown in her 5.5 years. I'd tell you about them, but you and everyone else
would think we have gone off the deep end, and be sending the men in the
white coats after Jim and me. They really do gather round us every morning
during "our time" together. They are such cuties. Billie

One place I worked there was someone with a degenerative disease which
may have been MG, I can't remember now except that it wasn't MS.
He was a real pain in the arse, used to spend his time poking his nose
into other people's jobs and half doing things, instead of
concentrating on his *own" job - then whine and complain about people
"picking on him" if they didn't let him get away with everything.
This was quite explicable when one of my older colleagues pointed out
he'd worked there before, long ago before he was ill - and was a total
arrogant pain then also <G>
You, my dear, are the exact opposite!

Trinkwasser, I apologize profusely for it taking so long to reply to you, as
I am just now finding this even if I did have the thread highlighted. I'm
soooo good at losing things, even just lying in bed all the time, I can lose
more than you'd ever imagine! lol
With owning my own domains and big in Web Ring from the mid 90's and onward,
I never thought about using anything else. Figured if anyone wanted me, I
was easy enough to find. The only thing ever to come to my home has been
domain connected, and it was because I was due to renew some. I lost my
ability to keep them going since getting worse, but am keeping them current
for the day I get better from this disease, and whatever else is wrong with
me. It is not ALL myasthenia, and I've got a big hill before me.
Thank you for the kind words.

Entirely NO need for apologies. The other day I could remember every
PIN number I'd ever had, except for the current one. I had to go into
the bank and take money out over the counter.
Then as I was going out the door I remembered the right number. And
I'm supposedly fit healthy and sane (for certain values of the above)
so I'd be entirely surprised if you *didn't* lose things <G>

I've trialled all kinds of things over the years, now I use different
usernames on one of my domains so I can [a] sort the mail as it comes
in and [b] see which name has escaped.
The main spam-collecting account gets hundreds a week and virtually no
genuine mails, usually I just download the headers, sort them by
username and delete off the server everything except what I want to
download, this works about as well as any auntomated system I've yet
used.
If I don't get to write to you again here's hoping all goes well with
your upcoming hospital visits.
My uncle was wheelchair-bound for about 20 years (nothing to do with
diabetes or any other disease, he lost an argument with the ground
just after his horse lost an argument with a hedge) they used to have
a nurse come in daily to help out with stuff that his wife couldn't
handle on her own, and he had various cranes and hoists to get him in
and out of his chair, bed, shower, etc. Could you get someone to help
out at home like that until you're both fit enough to cope again? Made
a great difference in terms of quality of life.
Much luck to you both! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
