Default OT - We'r all too dependent on our computers

This is to prove that we have become too dependent on our computers.

Question: Are you male or female?

To find out the answer, look down....

I do not consider what I have a computer. It is
very complex communication device. It no better
than the people I communicate with.

They do not get much from my end.
It just a toy and the real work are done in
the software companies. I am now
an ignorant user.

Don't put yourself down, I've been reading your posts for over 5 years and
you've come up with some good ones.

Anon didn't fool me, but Guy did.

Anon made me smile, but Guy made me laugh.

Now consider this context when you read on:

Why would anyone consider what they have a computer?
Yep, I communicate with mine, too, but not with "people,"
just with one person. But what does that third sentence mean?

From your 'end' ?

You consider it a toy? and real work, ...
OH, he's talking about the COMPUTER.

:-)

It's not that I have a dirty mind, it's just that Anon
brought something to my attention and so it didn't click
that Guy was changing the subject.....

Computers if you call them that are mostly toys.

The real computer functions are already done for you.

Your use of this tool is under several hundred levels of
software.

A very young kid can use these devices and much better
than I can do today.

In 1953 when I started to write routines it was more of
a chore. You needed some advanced math to develop the
sub routines and write from scratch with the bare machine.

Today I am the user of a communication device that is very
advanced. I am the idiot user and work from memory.

I still have one of the first books on assembly
language but haven't cracked it tens of years.

I am not impressed with myself today on anything.

I do love the greatest library that ever existed and

Docs seem to lack any math background and the use is for
financial or appointment schedules. In my hazy past
they showed so much promise as a diagnostic tool and
as major data base.
