I did reply to you. He was rather baffled too. Said it could maybe be the
hot weather we've been having, although really it has only been super hot
today. Said I might have come down with some kind of sub clinical
illness...whatever that means. He told me to stop taking the Januvia for a
few days and see if my numbers went lower. And then to try it again and see
what happens. He said it should start working fairly immediately.

I just tested again. Has been about 2 hours after dinner. It's 173. Too
high, obviously but better than the 200 or 300something that I've been
getting. And I don't feel as crappy as I did. I felt like I had some sort
of odd pressure in my head and sinuses. Hmmm...

Hot weather can make your bg go into the 200's or 300's? Is that
really true????

Doesn't he want to find out more? Doesn;t he want to get
to the bottom of it?

That's why he said to stop the pills for a few days then restart them. I
think the problem is, this med is so new, nobody knows too much about it.

BG down to 128 now and I feel like I am starving. Weird because I rarely
ever have an appetite any more.

Maybe just a symptom of finally starting to see normal
numbers again.

I doubt that. High numbers usually make you feel like you're starving.
More likely it's because I didn't eat enough yesterday.

This comment makes me kind of wonder if you had been eating so little
on Januvia because it lessened your appetite that your liver was
dumping while on it. Just a thought.

But I wasn't eating less on Januvia, with the exception of last night's
dinner where I had precious little carbs in a last ditch attempt to bring my
numbers down, which it did. I have gastroparesis. Delayed stomach
emptying. And that causes me to have no appetite. Aside from the dinner of
tuna salad, I was eating exactly the same meals I always eat.

I guess I didnt see the reply. Although your bg is still too high, its
going in a downhill spiral and perhaps it is the Januvia. Time will
tell but I am glad to hear that you are not feeling like crap today.
