Oops! LOL!

Anyway -- did I remember correctly that you'd be testing again this
month?

We aren't having testing this month -- the big tournament is weekend
after next and everyone's been getting ready for that. We'll test
again in July.

1st July for us - you're better at keeping my schedules than I am, the
sensei's running a couple of weeks late Yellow/orange stripy belt
next, easy kicks & punches and some mildly complicated one-step
routines, which the kids don't have to do, grrr!

How about you two - are you going in for the tournament? We have a
summer school at the end of July which sounds cool - a 2-day camp over
the weekend, with lots of sparring and different kinds of training.
The last sensei used to combine these with grading, but this one
doesn't, so it sounds much more relaxed. Haven't made up my mind if
I'm going in for the sparring - it would be good to see how I stack up
against people outside the club, but I don't want to know that badly!
Is sparring something you enjoy? How about the kidlet?

Nicky.

Well, now, that's not fair! LOL!

I don't know why I remembered such an odd piece of info, but I've been
thinking about it since the first! Considering I lost $60 today, but
can remember when you are testing -- I think there's something
backwards here? LOL!

Our kids have to do it all. Our "old" kids have to do it all, too --
everyone has to do every thing -- it's just a matter of how *well* it
is done. I still look like I'm going to fall over, but I'm out there.
Glad to hear you guys are moving along, too.

My son is competing -- I'm not. He was in his first tourney the end
of April and brought home three third place trophies. I don't know
about him, but I'm hooked. I told him I don't know if I will ever
dust them, but I want hardware to look at after he leaves the nest.
Apparently, he is happy to oblige.

That does sound like fun! We don't have anything like that until
Black Belt Camp.

I am not looking forward to the sparring. I don't even mind having a
license to beat people up -- it's all the gear we have to wear!
Everyone looks like the Michelin Man by the time they're finished ---
LOL!

There's another lady who's about my age and it looks like we'll be on
the same track -- she can't wait to spar. As a matter of fact, she's
already bought all her gear! She practically drools when she talks
about it, so I'm not sure I want to give her a crack at me. <g>

My son loves it, of course. After being told for fourteen years to
quit fighting? Are you kidding? LOL!

Let me know how it goes!

<giggle> Know exactly where you're coming from!

Good idea! We just get certificates, nowhere near as satisfactory. I
guess I could admire the multiplicity of belts after mine have gone!

Ours is only semi-contact, so we only need gloves and gum shields.

<snort>My two throw off their inhibitions as they walk into the dojo.

Will do. You too, please : )

Nicky.
