Thanks for the link, Robert.

Since my dx in August 2007, Ive made sure my kiddies eat the same as
me. Nipping it in the bud, so to speak. Even if I cant stop the
diabetes gene, I can hopefully stop the high triglycerides, etc. - a
complete bone of contention with regards to my family history.

And, if my children get into the habit of a healthier lifestyle, then
I am assuming that should diabetes hit them later in life, they can
keep it completely under control, without the ensuing complications
that come with non-control.

They could have asked any barman. If you want to increase
beer sales you put free over-salted crisps and peanuts on
the bar.

Way to decrease the chance of any food-related problems in
kids - follow Ozgirl's sensible mothering advice.
