Very happy greetings of the day to all of you! ... Or, has become the case
for so many people, for the long weekend beginning *just* about: NOW.

If you're going to be driving, be careful on the roads. The other guy may
not be.

If you're flying, try to take deep breaths if you & your luggage wind up in
different places.

Otherwise, I hope everyone of us enjoys food & fun & family & friends!

May we all eat only a little bit more than makes us the stuffed ones!

The menu here for the 6 of us will be:

Roast Turkey (LC)

with Classic Bread Stuffing

Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecans

Baked Squash Casserole (LC)

Green Bean with Tomatoes & Pine Nuts (LC)

Roasted Vegetables: Peppers, sweet potato, red onion, garlic, grape
tomatoes, asparagus, zucchini (LC)

Mac-and-Cheese

No Sugar Cranberry Sauce (LC)

Cranberry and Cherry Compote

Biscuits

Gravy

[Desserts]
Apple Pie
Spicy Pumpkin Cheesecake
Chocolate Cupcakes

Faux Juniors Cheesecake (LC)
Peanut Butter Cookies (LC)

(LC) = Low Carb

Here's hoping all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving also...

I'm cooking for 10 and the Father in-law doesn't like turkey so right
now I'm smoking my butt! Sorry, I'm smoking a pork butt.
also on the menu...

Roast turkey
sour cream mashed potatoes
giblet gravy
spinach with bacon and balsamic
crescent rolls
broccoli with toasted sesame/butter
yams with pecans/butter/cinnamon
whole cranberry sauce

Pumpkin pie
Apple Pie
Cherry Pie
Vanilla bean ice cream.

I know it's not real diabetic friendly but I'm cooking for the other
nine people. I'll limit my portions and deal with it for a day.

Yeow! I shudder to think of the end result if you eat all that
stuff... And yet, I am going to a similar function at a friend's home
;-)

I shall just have to be strong and not eat some of that stuff...

Best wishes to you, Donna, at this Thanksgiving, and to all the
denizens of asd.

And from me too, to all those giving thanks in the USA.

A good weekend to sit back and watch a re-run of Trains,

If I have a sufficiency of what I want. Not having the other stuff is not a
problem for me. The chocolate cupcakes might be tempting, but, ... we'll
see. I could just be saying that because they're done & I can smell them.

Sounds fantastic.
I join in wishing all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving,
safe journeyings, hugs from loved ones and perhaps a few you were not
expecting a hug from :-) That is always fun (well, usually).
There is always something to be thankful for, even at the worst of
times, as one or two here are having.
Best wishes to all for a 'thankful' weekend.
Lorna

IMHO it is a holiday that everyone should adopt. It was the time when
those struggling for a new life paused to count their blessings.
Family, friends, survival. It is absolutely my favorite holiday
because it's not about gifts or other distractions, it's all about
your loved ones and being thankful of the blessings in life.

Yup.

I have hubby home for Thanksgiving, so that's enough even without the
feast.

He's Canadian, so we get to be thankful *twice* a year.

Thanks!! We had a lovely day! Me, my son, and one guest.

14 pound turkey
giblet gravy
home-made dressing with celery
mashed potatoes
whole green beans
cranberry sauce
ice tea for the men
lemonade with splenda for me
home-made punkin pie

Hang the carbs! Go for it! After all, Thanksgiving only comes once a
year.

We also watched "It's a Wonderful Life". It was a lovely Holiday.
