Default REALLY cheap meds

PRICE WAR!!

I always shop for the best prices for my meds, and used to get some of
them overseas

Now, with the exception of Byetta, Insulin, and Albuteral, me and my
wife get ALL of our drugs from K-Mart, each for $15 for a three month
supply. Less than I paid in Italy.

A few months ago, after cutting a deal with the Indian drug companies,
K-Mart started this program. They have kept adding meds, carrying many
more drugs than WalMart's proposed plan.

Last month, with much fanfare, WalMart started a "trial program" in
Tampa Fl of a few generics for $4/month., to be expanded to all of
Florida next year, and nationwide sometime later. THAT got Target into
the fray, and the result is that I pay less for my drugs then many
people WITH insurance !!

I still get Insulin ($19.80) and Albuteral (6.18) at WalMart/Sams. where
they ate MUCH cheaper than everyone else.

My wife had to ask her doctor if she could change one med from a branded
to one on the K-Mart list, but the doctor approved.

Just noticed that I haven't switched my eye drops yet, but I have a few
months left, I don't think that there IS a generic in the US, and I pay
(in Italy) $17 for a 4 month supply already.

Even people with insurance are allowed to buy their drugs "retail" if they
want to. And I imagine that some will, if BigBoxPharms are convenient &
competitive enough to make it worth while. None of the BBPs are that
convenient for me -- it means a special shopping excursion to get to any one
of them.

I do buy one of my prescriptions retail, at my local (chain) pharmacy. I
don't save money on it, but I have the convenience & reliability I want for
that particular drug, which I can't use a generic for anyway.
