Default Recent Lab results

Special thanks to Julie (and others too) for bringing coconut oil to my
attention.
Although I cautiously ingested only 1 teaspoon a day, I think I can
attribute some of the improvement in my cholesterol levels to the coconut
oil..
No coconut smell or taste. Best of all, it wont turn rancid.

Results of lab work, October 12:
Total cholesterol down to 166 (from 169 in July)
*HDL's up to 52 (from 45 in July in July)
*LDL's down to 95 (from 103 in July)
Triglycerides down to 96 (from 103)
A1c down to 5.3 (from 5.5 - diagnosed 12/2005 8.2)

I've been using coconut oil for about a year. I notice that it isn't
oil, despite what it says on the jar, it's fat. i.e. solid. The only
time it was oil was a brief period of extreme heat in the middle of
summer.

Is this what other folk find, or do I just live in a colder house than
anyone else? :-)

Chris..
Same thing here..
Rather than liquefying the whole jar, I transfer some to a smaller container
(baby food jar)which I then place in a bowl of hot tap water for a few
minutes. It becomes a liquid..
In addition to ingesting the liquid oil, I apply it to my feet and hands.
It does wonders for dry skin.

I simply add commercially available coconut cream powder to
my thai fish curry when I make it about twice a week for
lunch.

I have no idea if it's doing me any good - but it makes a
nice curry:-)

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Mine is solid save for a brief period of time this summer when it was very
hot.

These labs give you good reason to celebrate. I'm sure it took many
sacrifices to achieve other than the coconut oil.

When it comes to healthy foods, everything seems to go full circle. A few
years ago theaters were condemned in the press for using highly saturated
(92% saturated fat) coconut oil in their popcorn. Today people are using
coconut oil to reduce cholesterol, the very reason it was condemned before.

I've decided to use my natural appetite to tell me which foods are good for
me and which aren't. To hell with all the agenda driven studies that are
likely to be reversed next year. I've decided that Brussels sprouts are
poison. LOL

Soulmate

When I was at university a zillion years ago, there was a long corridor with
4 classrooms leading off it. The walls of this corridor were papered with
lists of things that were carcinogenic, or bad for you in some other way;
the font size was about 10pt, and there was no space that wasn't covered. We
used to fill odd moments by trying to think of foodstuffs that weren't on
the list; we never succeeded. It brought me to the same decision you've just
reached.

Nicky.

Yes, you're right.. a lot MORE than coconut oil!
A low carb HEALTHY diet and increasing daily exercise (brisk 1 mile walk
per day) make a big difference.
I celebrate without eating the foods that will interfere with the progress I
am making.
Thank you all for your support.
