| | | Software to Track BG, Diet, Weight, etc. What do people use to track their numbers? I'm a Mac user and have been
using Diabetes Logbook X ( http://www.nesfield.co.uk/diabeteslogbookx )
which has been pretty good (there's a windows version as well). I am
using it to track BG readings, weight, A1C, meals, meds, carbs eaten,
arbitrary notes/questions to myself, etc.
I like it well enough but find it somewhat primitive and have done some
of my own semi-hacking to make it fit my needs. But I am curious what
tools others are using. Are there good tracker websites that hold data
and provide good statistical analysis? Other Mac (or Windows) apps that
people especially like?
I realize that I won't always log this much or test this much as I get
used to things but, for now, I'm enjoying the number crunching aspect of
this (geeky me) so want to see if there are other tools I should be
checking out...

Build your own in Excel. Or, if you don't have MS Office, go to www.openoffice.org and download the office suite.... pretty much the same as
MS Office. If you get stuck, go to an Excel newsgroup and ask how to do
things. Same with OpenOffice. Figure out exactly what you want it to do and
the folks in the newsgroups will tell you how to do it. You'll be amazed at
what you can build, not to mention the valuable learning experience.

Oh, I'm an old hand at Excel. Actually grooving on Apple's new Numbers
now. Thought about rolling my own but I'm busier learning about diabetes
and my other hobbies so am looking for the easy way out
And while I'm geeky, there's something about doing pivot tables on my BG
numbers that seems to cross a line somewhere :-)

Nah - fits right in here Chris was teaching me about weighted
averages a few weeks ago, there's lots of decent mathematicians and
scientists around.
I used to use Excel, but I lost the urge to graph about 2 years out
from dx. Thank goodness - it was taking up a lot of time!

here is an excel program made by someone who used to post to this newsgroup
i can't recall whom, but they haven't posted for a while...... probably
because of the noise ratio that Andie Chung creates here :-(

A very good program by Hi_Therre, who has posted this month.
He is using x-no archive this time around, so he's not
appearing in Google archives.
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

I just set up an Excel spreadsheet to track my BG numbers. I don't track
my weight or anything else. My meds rarely change, my weight is tracked
at my weekly Weight Watchers meetings, and tracking my eating habits, in
terms of carbs would be too time consuming for me. |
