Default The Stories About Diet and Diabetes

Do you believe you can 'fix' mild (or even major) cases of diabetes by
diet alone? How about diet plus attitude? Your thoughts?

Diet alone, mostly, in my case.

I've been able to achieve normal numbers by diet alone when I've
neglected to exercise for several weeks. I find I can consume more
carbs and keep my numbers normal when I do exercise.

Me also. Obviously exercise is good, but I don't want to be dependent on
exercise for good control.

Me three on diet. I *usually* get some exercise everyda--especially when
the weather is cooperative, but seem unable to increase my stamina for more.

I feel there is more to good life & health than just bg control.

Exercise (which I didn't do enough of for too many years!) does way more
than that. It also hits other factors like appetite control, bp control,
weight control, stress relief, and allover "mood" enhancement.

So I guess I'm "dependent" on exercise in general. Without it I'd fall down
on all the other stuff!

I walk every day, but it really does none of the above for me, low
carb does though. YMMV

there is no such thing as "mild" or "major" cases of diabetes.

Don't waste a diabetics time with idiotic scams/spam.

I was able to get my BG under control with diet alone and have not needed
medication since March 2005. However, I would not say diabetes has been
"fixed" if you mean "cured" by that. It is under control but would go right
back where I started (or worse) if I went back to my old way of eating.
Incidentally, I am also now going to Curves because I think I need the
exercise, even though it was not necessary to control my BG levels.

Pretty much agree, if I hadn't been as active as I was it might have
taken longer to get here, but dropping the carbs to non-lethal levels
was the killer. Or the not-killer.
